Why did Ward not choose Fonfara for today?

    Fonfara was free and intrested in this fight. There were talks from what I heard. Fight could have been done. The Polish Prince is not ducking anybody. He has a good resume, is definetly on a better stage than Barrera right now.

    Andre Ward is an ATG, he beat the legends, the three gods, Froch, Kessler and Abraham. And he .. he even knocked out Dawson!!! Why does he step down for the Barreras and Smiths, if he could have fight a very good opponent in Fonfara? :huh

    Honestly Barrera is a very good boxer, and shouldn't be compared at all with Smith.

    Ridiculous. A guy like Jay-Z has nothing to say in the boxing world. He should be glad if anyone even sends him offers. Who the **** is he that he compares himself to Haymon?

    These studio gangsters should stay where they came from. Look how 50 cent ended in boxing.

    You might think it's ridiculous, and it might even be ridiculous, but that doesn't make it any less true.

    Most of the business of boxing is, objectively speaking, ridiculous by the standards of other industries. But it still works the way it works.

    Plus the Haymon/HBO wall might have cracked a tiny bit, but still hasn't come down.

    Barrera won't even be a top 3 win for Ward but it's still a better win than Golovkin's entire resume. So give Ward some props, he's fighting a top guy for his first proper fight at 175.

    Wut? We talk about Light Heavyweight, 175. Hopkins said Kovalev is on fight night like a small heavyweight. Why do you talk about GGG, a Middleweight boxer who probably has to step down to 155 to get his title? :huh You can not even compare LHW and MW, what's your agenda?

    Andre Ward is an ATG, he beat thebest fighters of SMW history in Froch, Kessler and Abraham. That's why I wonder, why he could not fight Fonfara, who wanted this fight. Wladimir also gave a Fury, Pulev and Povetkin a fight, not Parker or Kownacki.

    Ward can't fight Fonfara because he's with Haymon.

    Shabranskyy was turned down by Ward, seen as too dangerous. Ward will beat a journeyman/fringe contender like Sullivan Barrera very easily.

    Nonsense. Barrera isn't a top ten light heavyweight, according to The Ring and Transnational rankings. GGG has beaten many top ten middleweights.

    Come on guy. The Ring still has Pascal ranked in the top 10. He got a gift draw against Gonzalez sandwiched between two whoopins from Kovalev. Pascal isn't a top 10 guy anymore. He is too shopworn. Barrera should be rated over him.

    He wouldnt get enough credit for beating fonfara who has already been beaten by lesser fighters. At least barrera is undefeated and highly regarded.

    Fonfara is too basic to compete with Ward anyways.

    NTM......Barrerra would walk down and DESTROY the GIRRAFENECK(IB*) Pole.

    Ward might fight Fonfara in the summer to prepare for Kovalev, that is if he can't somehow slip out of the Kovalev fight altogether. :think
