Christopher Eubank Junior has grown on me tonight.

Yes, he did his usual posturing, spoke his usual deluded nonsense.

But, instead of dismissing it as hubris, I see now that he's simply deeply insecure. The search for validation manifests itself in strange ways.
It's not really surprising. Being the son of, and named after, a well know eccentric, attention seeking and often derided man. It's got to be difficult being young and trying to maintain the requisite level of machismo so as to not be deemed the runt of the litter, in the circumstances.
The **** where he was talking to BJS mid round can be dismissed as trying to get/build a rematch.
He's massively flawed but obviously talented, always in fun fights, and gives his opponents their props after the fight regardless appearing quite convincingly contemptuous prior.

I did see some improvements tonight. His hands are still fast, but he was a little more deliberate and considered with his placement (not saying a lot). His defence, although still leaky (Blackwell literally couldn't miss his jab even when he was out on his feet), is better. He got backed up a lot but was slipping well when in the corner and fought his way out strongly with his usual flashy combos.

    Thoughts?

Boxing is many things, one of which is a sporting spectacle. The louder and more opinionated you are, the more you will be noticed, and the more money you can make. Guys like Fury and CEJ are great for the sport, because they get the people talking one way or another, love them or hate them.

Sure. It's a bit hypocritical of me because I've had a pretty low opinion of Jr, but I think the hate is misplaced.
I feel like he's more convincing in his heel act than most, is all.
