R1 10-9 Ward. Ward controlling pace keeping it slow. Picking shots and timing Barrera.
R2 10-9 Barrera. Ward landing more jabs but Barrera doing a little better and landed a decent power shot. Toss up round either given for Ward's controlling tempo or Barrera's aggression.
R3 10-8 Ward. The two begin to mix it up in close and initially Barrera is having the better of it but Ward knocks him down changing the momentum of the round.
R4 10-9 Ward. Barrera is having trouble lading cleanly. Ward pot shotting with the jab. Barrera not sure what to do.
R5 10-9 Ward. Ward taking Barrera's heart by just defending impeccably. Barrera swinging at air, getting blocked and parried. Nothing landing.
R6 10-9 Ward. Ward doing whatever he wants. Barrera backs Ward to the ropes lands body shots. Ward lands, ties him up, punches Barrera to the body while they are tied up. Ward in command the rest of the round.
R7 10-9 Ward. Not much landing for Barrera. Ward having his way.
R8 9-9 Ward. Ward hit Barrera with a low blow and is deducted a point.
R9 10-9 Ward. Ward throwing some harder shots in there. Possibly looking for a late round knock out.
