Richie Woodhall and the Channel 5 commentary last night was an utter disgrace

Firstly all thoughts are with Nick Blackwell, massive respect to a very brave man, praying that he pulls through all of this ok.

Could Woodhall have been any more unprofessional last night? Someone with such obvious bias has no place as a commentator. How the hell do you score the opening 2 rounds for Blackwell?

After 6 Woodhall comes out with 'Eubank maybe just ahead'... when he had won every round. After 9 rounds Eubank acccording to Richie was 'starting to pull away'

Not once did Channel 5 comment on what a terrible one sided beating Nick was taking and that his corner should look into pulling him out for his own safety. That to me is negligence. No doubt the appalling commentary making the fight seem competitive was fed back down to Lockett and the rest of the corner probably giving them false hope. The hate for Eubank JR seriously blinkered certain people last night and put a young mans life in danger.

Against anyone else im sure Blackwell would have been pulled out of the fight after 6 or 7. He was being very unresponsive in his corner after 8 rounds of punishment while Lockett insisted 'this was the plan!' and sent him out for another pointless beating. Pride should never cloud the assessment of a fighters well being, I just hope to god Nick recovers from this.

Woodhall's scoring was off and the commentary was a bit casual but there was no need for bias- Channel 5 and Hennessy's partnership is no more after last night and the sniping in the week.

Basically Mick was unhappy with the amount of promotion of the fight last night got on Channel 5. Which is a fair shout.

No excuse at all for Woodhall and for sure he was a ****ing disgrace, not only with his bias during the fight but also post fight when he was with BJS.
Complete bellend and i know a lot of folk rate him but hes been a **** imo for a long long time and is one of the most biased on the box.

Dave Farrar is the best blow-by-blow covering boxing in the UK, and let's not retrospectively rewrite lasts nights fight in the wake of the post-fight tragedy. Nick was well in it, yes it was worrying how many punches he was taking, but his legs never dipped and he never looked like being stopped.

The post-fight blame game has been a disgrace. Boxing is a dangerous sport, and tragedies can happen without anyone being to blame.

What? No, no he wasn't. This is the attitude that made NB end up taking waaay too much unnecessary punishment last night. He was losing every round and getting badly beaten up in the process. Totally irresponsible.

Today has been very encouraging news for Nick Blackwell so that is good.

I am no expert I am as terrible at picking a winner and how the fight would go but even I said Nick Blackwell would be pulled out before the 8th. I am so glad I was wrong saying hope it would go 12 rounds.

Regarding the fight itself it was very uncomfortable to watch the first couple of rounds were ok but going into the midway and later rounds the punishment Blackwell was receiving was brutal, His corner gave the wrong advice and the commentary team seemed to believe Nick would come on strong in the later rounds. How on earth is that possible after a sustained attack which has left damage to Nick face.
Channel 5 are not the only 1 to ignore boxers taking punishment both Sky and Boxnation are guilty as well

I am not knocking Gary Locket but he had a similar fight with Enzo VS Maccarinelli and made the right call. I don't know why he sent Nick out in the 10th No blame can be put on Mick either I just thing emotions were very high and in hindsight the sight should have been stopped 2-3 rounds before. Anyone else who is as old as me or older think last night fight was like the old days.

Think in future rightly or wrong whoever Eubank comes up against they will have to keep a eye on them. Eubank is a concussive puncher not a ko artist Chudinoov, Blackwell both took punishment and even though they didn't go down they are absorbing punishment. Think the trouble is with CEJ he is putting on a show and people are enjoying watching him.

I sincerely hope this time tomorrow we have more good news regarding Blackwell

He actually scored the first round even, not for Blackwell.

After the round he said he scored it even which was bad enough, then when his scorecard came up he had scored it 10-9 for Blackwell! The man has no shame, wasn't even trying to hide his bias.

Woodhall usually is pretty good and last night he had an off night.

Farrar has really grown on me as a commentator and is leagues above Halling.

Yeah i agree. I normally like Woodhall but his commentary and bias was shocking last night. You can tell he's close with BJS hence why he didnt seem to be giving Eubank much credit.

I felt genuinely ****ed off when seeing his scoring. Blackwell landed possibly 5 jabs in the second but even then didn't deserve to win that round after watching it back.

He also was questioning Eubanks stamina in the post fight ****ysis and said he seems to fade late on in fights, which for one is wholly incorrect, but it didnt seem to dawn on him he was standing next to one of the worst second half fight faders in BJS.

Fat Mick needs to take a look at himself as well, standing near the apron willing Blackwell on and shouting at him to keep going even after recieving a beating for 8 rounds.

The only people that have came out of last night with credit Eubank and his team and Blackwell himself, the rest should be pretty ashamed of themselves.

Eubank CLEARLY won every round and it was a horrible one-sided beating that should have been stopped long before it was. I normally like Woodhall but he was a joke last night.
