Not only were his hands and feet looking like they were underwater, but his reaction time and reflexes were terrible. Not to mention he got baited by every feint ward tried, 200+ amateur fights you sure about that? Come on this guy makes froch look like meldrick taylor.

You're only as good as your opponent allows you to be. Ward made Barrera look ordinary, below average, slow.

I thought Barrera was going to give Andre hell. I was wrong. There is no doubt in my mind that Ward is a natural 175 lb fighter. He looked stronger than ever.

There was a massive speed difference. Barrera was very slow last night as though he was pushing his punches.

Yeah, Barrera has always been slow as molasses. I disagree with "Andre looked better than ever", to me looked smooth as a soda can and quite a bit more aged than i remember.

He doesnt need to be coming in at 186lbs, thats for sure. He would be much better off at 180 next time out...he would only be giving away 5lbs (and no height) to the krusher, but would have more speed and probably better conditioning.

I'm never one to "let a fight marinate" but Ward would be put into a coma but Kovalev. Let him get back into training and get himself better physically and sharpen up by fighting Despaigne or someone.

The Ward from last night gets chewed, spat out and buried by Kovalev

Ward has to fight the Perfect Fight to beat current Kova, and has a good chance of doing so

Yeah but it's not like Ward was really all that fast himself, he looked slower at least in the early parts and still Barrera looked painfully slow.

He did true but I thought Ward fought well against his first test in years.

Having said that people (theusual suspects)are going overboard in relation to the outcome of Ward v Kovalev.

Barrera will make for an entertaining gate-keeper to the better fighter in the divisions, but he's not cut out for the world title level against anybody solid or better. That said, Ward looked good, but I saw some of the same signs of athletic decline as I did when he beat Paul Smith. He's getting slower on his feet and his right hand is very underwhelming.

I wouldn't mind seeing Barrera v Beterbiev. It would be short, entertaining and brutal.

    I agree with the OP

Thats why ROC will not let Ward anywhere near someone like Thomas Williams Jr or even someone tainted like Lucian Bute.:good

Barrera did not perform well, Ward's face between rounds could tell how hard he was feeling the fight I think he was very lucky not to face Yuniesky Gonzalez the other hard pressure Cuban who clearly beat Pascal.

ward was looking a little beat up, I was thinking what the hell punches are even landing to mess his face up like that because i'm not really seeing them. Must have been some of the exchanges.

Ward's body definitely has wear an tear on it. He looked old and tired against a Cuban school flunkie who didn't even make the Olympic trials.

Some jabs were landing and heads collided. Ward looked ****ed at the post fight presser. He said people were tearing down his performance!:think

Uh, Barrera is ordinary. I'm not sure why people thought Barrera had a chance. Barrera wouldn't have gone 4 against Kovalev.
