Sheer class? Maybe on your culture. Great fighter inside the ring thou. His fans are just pathetic. Mostly mayweather fans grasping on straws on their last mohican.
Honestly there is no doubt in my mind that he is currently p4p no1. Such a broad range of skills on display and utter mastery of alot of them. He's packing a punch too at 175 and I don't think anyone is touching him around this Weight class. GGG will struggle more than he did against ouma. Kov is a little too upright at range.
Ward will have to go through Kovalev for the #1 spot. Granting him p4p #1 now is way premature. Looking forward to that matchup.
You forget the dirty fight hitting after the bell, blasting Barrera's nuts head butting etc he was warned and they deducted 1 point also holding a lot, it was not a clean fight.
Didn't look that good last night he said it himself. I think that unless he has another fight to get the rest of the ring rust off then Kovalev will stop him.
Pbf was at the end of his career the guy has nothing left to prove. He could have retired in the ring after he beat pac. With that said pbf is a stylistic nightmare for khan he eats boxer punchers for lunch.
He put on a b- performance his accuracy was off and he looked tired. Even still I think he was working on things in that fight sitting on his shots more and getting used to fighting bigger men at 175.
People are only giving credit to this win because Barrera is a Cuban and people assume that a "Cuban" was a storied amateur with a couple gold medals and a few world championships.....Barrera never even qualified for the olympic trials. He was slow as molasses and his claim to fame is beating the shell of Jeff Lacy and KO'd some turk who lost every round to a 49yr old Bernard Hopkins. Ward would be KTFO by Kovalev in 4rds right now. He has a lot of rust, clearly isn't back from injury, and carries this weight really badly right now (he's smooth as a soda can). I think he needs to take on Yunieski Gonzalez or maybe even Pascal quiet honestly - thats where he's at right now. Needs to weigh in around 172 or 173 and come to the ring at 180lbs. He's got a way to go before we can start talking about Kovalev.
That why Ward should fight Stevenson. I like that fight. Ward has better chance against a wild man like Adonis. All Ward has to do is stay away from the left hand and he should be able to disarm Stevenson and win a UD unless Al fixes the judges in Montreal for Adonis.:verysad
