Ward would make a good MMA fighter.

Better? Probably not. Similar level? Sure.

Too early to say until we see Ward against a guy like Stevenson or Kovalev.

If you really believe that then why did you pick Barrera to beat him?

The difference between Ward and Mayweather is that he seems to have the ***** to fight a prime P4P champion. No bull**** excuses or cherrypicking here.

Yes, I think Floyd lost to both Oscar and Castillo, even fight with Maidana.

Mayweather stepped up enough to fight Oscar De La Hoya and Saul Alvarez though. De La Hoya was past prime and Alvarez was pre-prime but I can see them as similar types of challenges: two slightly bigger guys who were very good fighters in their own right.

Was Floyd beating Berto, Guerrero, and Ortiz any different than Ward beating Rodriguez, Smith, and Barrera? A ****ty mismatched fight is still a ****ty mismatched fight no matter who is doing it. I think Ward's fights with Kessler and Froch are probably comparable to Mayweather's Hernandez and Corrales victories too. Although, come to think of it the Corrales victory was impressive for a lot of the same reasons that Ward's victory over Chad Dawson's was; so that might be the better comparison.
