Y'all trying the same thing with Ward that you tried with Floyd.

    The parallels are obvious.

    Paint a picture of a p4p master boxer afraid to fight sluggers (Dre-ggg, kkkov, Floyd-southpaws, manny, cotto, lil g) then prop up another boogeyman after they beat the breaks off of them. Ward's not as sharp as Floyd due to inactivity, but best believe when he's on a normal schedule no current boxer can touch him. After he dispatches of Kovalev it will be my favorite #Beterbeast, but he can't touch dre either. Just letting y'all know this is how it's going to go down. You can tell by the HBO broadcasts.

    we already knew how it was going to be......beterbiev....then someone else...t.hen a 40 year old adonis stevenson will be frightening the bejesus out of ward.....we know the routine

    They're different. Comparable in skills. Floyd's D and intangibles put him above Dre. Dre going on a wrecking streak up in weight classes could put him above Floyd though.

    yup....then when ward signs to fight stevenson ...adonis will be old and way past it and the fight should have happened 5 years earlier even after stevenson is coming off an impressive stoppage victory against a legit world champ

    No...he's not. And I am a fan of both. But, that's just my opinion, just as you have yours. Floyd's defense is among the greatest of all time. And this is a past prime Floyd we are talking about here. Andre will be the next one, if he keeps fighting and winning though. He's a legend in the making.

    Yep...you could see this coming a few years back. He will be the new target of hate and vitriol. And he's quite the opposite of Floyd...not playing the villian at all. But...there are other similarities. Perhaps, he can use this in the same way Floyd did, to draw more interest. He might just get a big check (bigger than his usual I mean) before he retires. More than any other, the Kovalev fight presents that opportunity, if it's timed right. Of course, that would mean we as fans would be held hostage by the business of boxing. But, I would like to see him get it though. The Bay Area came out to support Dre last night. Great to see.

    No, Ward is not ducking, and or a compulsive liar. Last night he was dead honest and you can't be mad at that. He said the fight with Kov was coming and that he needed to work on a few things to get himself prepared for that fight. He moved up to face challenges and he's going for it win or lose.

    Don't try to place Ward in the same category as the conman Floyd.
