You are aware that Brook nearly got killed in a stabbing?
He was scheduled to box Chaves (who drew with Bradley in his last fight) but broke a rib about 9 days before.
Bradley was nominated to fight Khan in a final eliminator for Brook's title - both withdrew.
Pacquiao boxed Mayweather and then had surgery. Arum mentioned Brook as a possible opponent but Bradley got the fight.
Thurman went on to win the WBA title which he defended against Collazo before pulling out of a fight with someone that Brook has already beaten. Thurman talked up a fight with Khan but said a fight with Brook would be very difficult.

Who do you think Brook should fight in July?

Personally think his next mandatory (Spence) more than makes up for the 2 gimmes to date. Possibly why Brook so keen to get the WBC.

Comfortably? I don't agree with that comment.

Are you actually compared Rigondeaux record to Brook? Guys like Golovkin and Rigondeaux do struggle to get absolutely top notch opponents to fight them, they still get decent enough fighters in the ring and they do seem to want it - both are fighting in the States

I think the problem is the IBF belt and Brooks age, Brook and Hearn are intent on keeping it regardless of what the IBF keep throwing at them. It took Brook a long time to get his hands on a world title so I can understand to a point why Brook is finding it hard to let it go.

But these poor mandatory opponents are damaging his reputation, people are becoming less interested in Brook by the defence. I personally would drop the belt and go seek other world champions but at Brooks age it might take a while to get in to a position to force another world title fight with a different body if nobody is willing to give him a shot.

Hearn can keep saying Brook is a star, well real stars are bigger than the belts they hold and I do not think Brook is bigger than the belt he holds.

Hearn also says Brook would take Cotto, Golovkin (at catchweight) and anybody else with a name, so they are prepared to drop the belt for those fights so they have a decision to make, drop the IBF belt and go after these fights or wait, wait, wait and wait a little longer and keep having JoJo Dans and Kevin Biziers thrown at them.

To be fair, hearn has always said that kell has less chance of getting the big fights without the belt.

I don't see how him dropping the belt to avoid the biezer fight would have been beneficial at all.

Which big name could he have fought in march?

Okay he could have fought a better fighter then bizier but really are we saying the opponent would have been worth dropping the title for?

Fighting biezer was the right thing to do. He has a clear run of voluntary defences now so this is the time.

    Can be no excuses!

Hearn can say that he has less chance of getting big fights without the belt, well he has had the belt for how long now? and he still hasn't got any big fights.

Hearn and Brook have said they would move up for a big fight and therefore would have to drop the belt so I don't see how Brook being IBF welterweight champion helps him get a Cotto at 154.

We can all sit here and say "who else could he fight in March?" Just like Hearn said but he said the same things when Brook had the other defences "it's a mandatory" "everybody else is tied up" and "Khan don't want a fight".

They have already had more than enough time to go all out for big names and haven't managed to get any over the line. How many more excuses do we have to listen to?

I'm not a Khan fan, far from it but Khan didn't have a belt at welterweight and he has jumped two weight and is fighting Canelo, big money, big fight so what is this IBF belt actually doing for Brook?

Mayweather retired but has hinted at a return against Garcia, Porter Vs Thurman, Pacquiao Vs Bradley so who exactly will want to fight June in Sheffield?

Errol Spence is a good fight but is he a "name" that generates money and justifies a PPV event?

It doesn't look promising at welterweight at this moment in time but we've said that for nearly two years regarding Brook.

Pretty sure if GBP called up Eddie Hearn and offered brook the canelo fight then he would have took that fight.

Cotto would be a fight worth dropping the belt for and who says kell has to fight in June. The Bradley fight can be made for later in the summer.

LOL! Can't name people that are allowed to fight Kell? Jesus, NOBODY NEEDS to fight him.

How come Kell can't go to the states full time? Isn't he allowed?

Beat him comfortably? He was clinching like Wlad towards the latter rounds!

Explain the before and after of why his opponents have been so poor then?

Look who Bradley is fighting now...

I think he should go for the Manny/Bradley winner (or loser, it'd still be a great scalp for him).

    Berto? Laughable.

Garcia? Dog muck of a fighter.

    Vargas? Zzzz.

Let's face it: Kell will not face a big name this year. 100% bet on that!

Excuse after excuse. Here's how it'll go down...

    1) Fight a dog muck mandatory.
    2) Beat said dog muck mandatory.
    3) Rave about wanting the big fights.
    4) Promoter promises "big fight next, huge fight"
    5) Gets injured or avoids dangerous mandatory
    6) Back to step 1.

    That's Kell's career since Porter.

Or he will fight someone shot like Berto or Guerrero, then rave about the big names.

I admire you lot for having faith in a homegrown talent, but he's going nowhere.

Manny says he's retiring. He's running for a seat in the Senate and has signed an affidavit promising 100% attendance.
If Bradley isn't fit or won't fight Brook, who should he fight in the summer?

    Another mandatory! :roll::roll:

Tell me this though; why is it that EVERYONE seem's to be fighting when Kell is due to fight? Can't his promoter break the bank or his back to make the big fights happen? Why does Kell HAVE to fight in the summer? Why can't he spend the next two odd months negotiating a fight with a big name so he can fight them come September?

Always seem's to be an excuse this does. "Oh, EVERYBODY is tied up (again), we better get another two mandatories out the way and try again next summer."

Spence up next for Brook as his mandatory. Or Rico Muller. Who I hear makes lovely yoghurt based snacks.
