Ward does 1.064 million views on HBO!

Froch and Chavez Jr - two face first brawlers with PPV potential and a great style match for GGG. I can see why he would step above his weight division for them but he is clearly a small middleweight so I've no issues with him and Wars not fighting.

As long as we get GGG - Canelo and Ward - Kovalev this year I'll be happy.

And GGG and Ward would both be outweighed on fight night. And both fights would be competitive IMO

 

Good numbers but, let's not crucify GGG, he's had about 1.3 to 1.4M in his last couple of televised fights. Wondering how high Ward's numbers could have gone if he didn't cancel on the Canelo undercard.

 

GGG vs. Trout did 1.3 million on HBO. I don't see how Ward did so much better considering Ward is boxing on US television for what like 6 years now?

Not sure which fight you're referring to. Could be that these are peak figures, and the peak keeps going up the longer the fight goes, but Golovkin's fights don't always go so far.

If the Ward numbers are true then hopefully it means that there will be plenty of money and less to get in the way of the Kovalev fight.

Really, it doesn't matter. These guys were never gonna fight and are now on two different paths.

 

I agree. Mayweather vs Golovkin is never going to happen either but they keep talking about it too. The more GGG mentions Floyd the more he mentions Ward. A never ending circle.

Dude, Wladimir Klitschko had over 20 Million viewers in Germany. We have only 80 Million inhabitants here. atsch Maybe a Russian speaking here can tell us GGG's numbers from Kazakhstan.

Mire than 300 Million inhabitants but 1,64 watched their countryman fighting and the majority were probably Exil-Cubans.

 

To be honest, I can't find anything on the numbers myself, I don't think that they are available at this time. However Wards numbers in general are on par or better than GGG's even with the layoff.
