Looks like David Nyika aint going to the olympics

LHW Tyson Sykes from New Zealand knocked out Zacharia from Turkey in first rnd....

 

It's unfortunate how Nyika had to face Tulaganov in the quarter finals, looking at the rest of the draw. He's probably the second best fighter in the whole weight class aside from Tulaganov. If he were on the other side of the bracket he probably would've at least gotten to the semis.

Also for the final world qualifier he'd have to win the entire tournament just to qualify as there's only one qualifying spot available.

Whateley is in the semi-finals which means if he loses he can still qualify through the box-off 3rd spot, and Nyika's beaten him twice

 

A bit rough that Whateley got an easier route when Nyika beat him comprehensively at the trans tasmin comp.

 

I thought this was the Olympic qualifier. Is there another round after this?

 

It is an Olympic qualifier, if you don't qualify at this one you can go to the world qualifier in June which will have everyone around the world who has yet to qualify.
