Yes I think it does. It was good guy versus bad guy; the result had to be the Cowboy's destruction. I am not saying Dempsey did not hit Lutterell, I just think it was a work and both were in on it and had things planned.

It was like the time Lil Floyd hit that wrestler (Big show). It did enough damage (broke his nose), but was pre planned.

I know it is not everyone's cup of tea, but I do not mind some pro wrestling. These people are often in their own way decent sportspeople, but their main skill is to entertain, which is what the Cowboy did here.

And that it is 75 years old and still discussed and debated suggests to me he did a brilliant job!

NONSENSE, it being a pre plan job, like pro wrestling entertainment. Pro wrestlers FAKE like there getting hurt. Cowboy Lutrell though a pro wrestler, absorbed a terrible beating that was not faked and could have truly died from the horrendous beating he took from an old but
still frightful hitting Dempsey. Knowing immediately he couldn't cope with Dempsey he tried to use "bravado" to entertain the public..The cowboy was too brave for his own good methinks...

I think the Cowboy and indeed Jack are metaphorically 'looking down' having a chuckle mate over this. I think we are all being 'worked'.

How do you watch the footage, and think that it was planned?

Can you not see thunderous blows form one of the hardest punchers of all time swinging Lutrells head back? You don't plan that!

It's one crazy idea to another! Dempsey was not just a boxer....he was one of boxings most murderous power punchers. No man takes a real beating like that in a fake fight.
