Question about the spit bucket in boxing matches

    I noticed that fighters spit in the same bucket where their trainers/ring assistants keep their bottles with water and other stuff. Is not gross/weird to do that ? Why they just don't use the spit bucket only for spitting use ?:think

    Lol I never noticed that, I've seen fighters spit in the ring tho

    lmao,,, this is kinda a silly thread but I like it for some reason :good

    if that's what the assistants were doing then it was gross, I don't think its the norm, then again in a fight blood, sweat and spit can be flying everywhere including into the peoples meals at ringside.

    I've never seen that. If it happened, it's because someone messed up -- usually the promoter has a bucket in each corner to be used as a spit bucket and the trainers bring their own bucket with ice/water/etc.

    That bucket with ice, waters and other stuff is used as a spit bucket too. That's gross.

    Dude, I doubt anyone cares to take 1 second to make sure it's a spit bucket. These guys only have minutes to heal up cuts and do their thing. Plus, what do you think happens when you drink from anything? Yep, saliva accumulates in your bottles of water. Who cares.
