Is anybody going to drop $40 on the Adamek vs. Molina PPV?

Starts at 2pm EST, live from Krakow with the main event probably around 5:30pm EST.

Hard to justify a price tag like that for essentially a toughman contest that in nobody's wildest dreams will make the slightest dent on the HW division.

That said, the undercard isn't THAT bad. It actually is pretty decent by European standards, and slays most Klitschko undercards in Germany...and is deeper than what Sky has in tap at the Echo Arena in their own domestic show. Jackiewicz vs. Syrowatka II, Cieslak vs. Palacios, Wawrzyk vs. Rekowski, and Masternak vs. Fields are each mildly interesting - but the sum of its parts don't make this PPV worth two-thirds of what the biggest marquee events fetch these days. This should cost about half of what it does - roughly what the Latin Fury and late 90's/early aughts comebacking-heavyweight showcase cards (thinking Holyfield and Tua when they were clinging to relevancy as fringe contenders) used to.

Thing is, three of the four supporting bouts are essentially showcases - even the Pole vs. Pole ones. Jackiewicz is old and shot and Wawrzyk is just flat out not that good (by world class standards, as we have seen when he stepped up), but they are definitely supposed to beat Syrowatka and Rekowski and not being fed more than what they should be able to handle. Masternak has stumbled a little since his prospect days but there is no reason to expect him to lose to or even struggle with Fields.

Even in the most competitive of the four, there is a strong local favorite. Palacios was very much in the world class mix during his rivalry with Diablo (which is probably why they even brought him in, being familiar to Polish audiences) but but that was several years ago now and Cieslak if as good as projected ought to go through him like a knife through butter.

Then we have the headline attraction, which is actually 50-50 and given their styles likely to produce lots of slugging in the pocket - but for some reason it just isn't all that enticing.

I'd probably buy for $15-20. Adamek is tough to watch at HW knowing how much of a beast he was under 200.

That's how I feel too. I'd like to peek into some alternate universe crystal ball and see the Haye vs. Adamek cruiser unification we got cheated of with both of them playacting as heavyweights to chase the money. :good

Honestly if Team Polska don't go 3-0 in the international match-ups I'd be shocked. Par for Masternak and Cieslak is scoring mid-round kayos, anything less is a disappointment. I do think Molina will probably run Adamek close and perhaps earn the nod on the fans' and media cards, but no way does he get the decision. Even if the judges are on the up-and-up (as in, not bought in a desperate bid to pump some air into the dying embers of Adamek's career like a bellows) the crowd noise of the Krakow faithful every time Goral shows a hint of aggression will no doubt sway them. Adamek incites a lot of passion from his loyal followers but in reality hasn't been that effective in years. Arguably ever, at heavyweight, outside the one night with Arreola - which itself wasn't a cake walk, and really Arreola has never been more than B- grade (maybe the weakest talent anyone ever had to beat to become WBC heavyweight champion)

Molina will need to knock him out and I'm not sure he can.

The official one is $39.95 or something like that. That's a bit too much. Though honestly, I don't think they woulld get significantly more buys at $20 so I wish them good luck.

This is what I'm talking about. Guys demand that certain fighters get attention and play accountant about what type of money certain fighters should get, BUT WON'T BUY THEIR MUTHA****ING FIGHTS!!!

The only difference between MMA and Boxing is that MMA fans are willing to pay, no matter what. Most of these boxing matches besides Haymon boxing are going to be PPV. N ow we get to see who is really worth their paycheck or not.
