Watched a interview on ifl with Liam and Eddie. Liam wants the fight 100% Eddie reckons Kell was offered less than his purse from last week. Do u think the fight can be made and what brodcaster purse split ? For me think it would be a good move for Kell. My reasoning Khan tied up so is Bradley, Thurman, Porter. That leaves Garcia, Spence and Peterson. Would they fight Kell could it be made and where would it be. A summer fight is unlikely but if Kell does want to move up and fight Golovkin and or Canelo a fight with Smith would be a good starting point. If we does win he would be a 2 weight world champion and would raise his profile in the States. An intriguing fight which I have no clue how it would pan out. Smith came across very respectable even though he got interrupted by Eddie
This fight won't happen, not even worth talking about to be honest. Would be good to see it, but nah... I can't see it being made. There's potential big fights out there for Brook at 147 + the FW / Matchroom divide.
Did you see the IFL interview with Joe Gallagher about this? He reckons Liam Smith as champion should get £1.5m if that fight is to happen... Kell would absolutely smash Liam Smith to pieces. Even Khan would school Smith, ****** wanted to make that fight. I don't think it will happen though, Kell will probably fight Berto/Guerrero/Alexander or some other washed up Welterweight and Hearn will put it on a Joshua PPV undercard and brand it a huge step up or something equally ridiculous. Quite simply Brook has to base himself in America and fight there if he wants the big fights. He's not getting any big fight here unless Khan decides to grant him the payday.
Gallagher's not his manager, he should stick to telling Scott Cardle to keep dancing. I wonder what Smith's highest purse has been?
Hearns should be doing everything in his power to make the Garcia fight, 90% likely Kell would have to travel for that fight but I don't buy into this nonsense that Kell has to base himself in America to get big fights.
This would be a repeat of the Eubank vs Blackwell fight, ie a total mismatch that will result on the domestic level journeyman leaving the arena out on a stretcher.
Yeah. Little Frankie Gavin walks away with a few bruises but Liam Smith would be unable to leave under his own steam. Think you may get a shock how good Liam really is.
That's what they said about Nick Blackwell, gave the poor kid false ideas on what he could do in there. People were saying he could cause an upset and how tough he is blah blah blah. This Liam Smith is just another domestic fodder that has never ventured outside his hometown. He would get a beat down like no other. If Brook fought this bum for his next, I would lose all respect for him as a fighter. Its one thing fighting no good bums who are your mandatories which is understandable, its another going out of your way to fight no good bums.
Besides Shawn Porter - who we over-rated due to the Paulie fight - has Kell fought a genuine world class welterweight? We don't even know how good he is, but judging by Eddie's actions waiting to beat up on little Amir, maybe we can have an idea.
