Callum Smith

I certainly think callum is our best prospect and weve seen some absolute fantastic fighting from him. Each fight he has i keep looking for areas i can point out are weak in his game but each time i strughle to find any overwhelming faults. The only thing id like to see is some mire experience with talented fighters. He was massive compared to mouhamadi to other night it wss like another weight class or 2.
Rebrasse gave him a good test and id like to see more opps that are going to be able keep him going for rds. Theres no rush imo.Another yr of learning meaningful fights before going for a world title hes only 25.

 

Looked decent last 2/3 Fights but hes been fighting one dimensional fighters. Rebrasse come forward and cant punch but good chin (anyone above british level beats him on points). Maohemmedi jeez the guy just rushes at smith and had zero game plan. His fight with fielding is a joke as Fielding has no chin if Rebrasse can put him down...

Imo atm hed be on a par with Murray/Groves. I actually think hed struggle with a guy that has speed and can bang. I think groves would beat smith but looks like hes going WBA route. As his fight with Brophy is for WBA international which will give him top 10/5 ranking id imagine...

Getting grossly overrated right now lol. Didn't look all that great against Rebrasse, beat Fielding who has a very suspect chin and almost got ko'd by Rebrasse in the 2nd round then beat this guy - granted impressive performance.

For people to say he beats everyone in Super mid is absurd. I think Dirrell would give him nightmares at this stage. I also think Bute would give him a good fight.

He's clearly got talent but lets not get ahead of ourselves. Beating fielding and emmahamoudisndjsan doesn't make you world class.

 

If he wants to beat DeGale he will need to work on his head movement, which is something he is lacking at the moment.

 

Fiekdings only been stopped by one man Callum Smith so I don't get this he has a weak chin from no one said that pre Callum fight. He beat Rebrasse with ease beat last two opponents dead easy. His level of opponents is similar to What DeGale fought up until winning world title and has done a much better job against them.

 

I agree, that Callum has done a much better job. But DeGale fought these guys 2/3 years ago. A lot of them would have had plenty of battle wounds since then.

 

Yeah he did a demolition job and it will be interesting to see just how far he can go.

 

Fielding has a suspect chin, saved by the bell against rebrasse who is known for being feather fisted.

That rest may be true but it doesnt mean he's world class and would beat everyone in the division like some people are touting.

Hasn't even beat anyone in the top 10. Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Edit: actually just read what you said again, Degale had fought much better opposition than Smith

 

what u talking about callum beat Rebrasse easily. in time callum will be the dominant force in the division.

 

He beat him easily but didnt look that impressive doing so.

Both Dirrels give him big problems.

 

he will do very well at 168, but will eventually not be able to make weight and he wont win a title at 175, too much talent there

 

He's mandatory for a world title now with a recent history of hand issues, is it worth the risk?

 

Anybody reckon he would do the job with Abraham, even now?
