Wilder's resume just recieved a massive boost recently. Some of his victims have proven to be legit fighters.

Povetkin's resume is already incredible. He only lost to possible GOAT Klitschko.

Whoever wins this one will have a massive win on his resume and would be a solid ATG candidate with few more good wins.

We're in a great era of heavyweight boxing and these two guys are two of the biggest sharks.

After Floyd Pac boring era is over boxing is again all about the heavyweight division. Fury-Wlad II and Povetkin-Wilder are the biggest fights of this year.

They're going to have to do a bit more to be ATG's imo.

Povetkin's resume is better, but he has less years.

If Povetkin brutalizes Wilder and Wilder recovers to be something big, that would definitely aid his cause.

    It's a big fight.

It's ahead of Joshua - Martin but behind any of Cleverly's fights.

    Think about it.

Wilder is going to be in a must TKO or KO situation :deal:deal
With his height he can avoid the bull rush style and jab him to death as long as his little legs stay in shape :D

:good Agree 100%. It's sad that the hater culture of these blogs blinds so many fans to witnessing greatness as it occurs. The winner of Povetkin Wilder will firmly place himself as an ATG top 40 HW. Povetkin is already fairly clearly the best non K of at least the second half of the K years. If he beats Wilder, he'll stake his claim as the #2 HW of the initial, post K years as well. That's a level of success hard to find among HW's, really he could be top 30. If Wilder wins, he'll firmly establish himself as the #2 HW of the initial post K period, establish the post K period as superior to the end K period, and still have a chance later on to be #1 of the period.

I am just so happy this fight has been made.

I like both guys, or more accurately I don't really give a hoot about them personally but I like both of their styles.

If Wilder takes out Sasha in a powerful showing he will become so much more legit to the casual and passionate fan.

If Sasha takes out Wilder he will rival Fury as the man to beat.

I love the match up, a dude with a long range straight right and a dude with shorter ranged hooks, its what the bobbing and weaving in boxing is all about :bbb

I know this fact will annoy people whose top 50 ATG rankings are mostly composed of fighters from one or two eras, but the only fair way to do ATG rankings is to weigh heavily their in era ranking fairly equally. Era strengths are subjective. The fair way to rank ATG's is based on their in era dominance. If someone is #3 of their era, and there is a big, demonstrated gap between them and #4 etc, then they belong in the top 40 all time. I.E., the first 40 ATG slots should be a compilation of the 1-4th best HW's of each era. Some degree of flux is cool, ie, if you really think one era is better or one #4 in an era is better than a #3 in another era, it's acceptable to put them above the #3. But if your ranking looks like a who's who of one particular era, and you're having 5's and 6's above 2's and 3's, then it just shows irrational bias.

Anyway, Povetkin is already fairly clearly the best non K of at least the second half of the K years. If he beats Wilder, he'll stake his claim as the #2 HW of the initial, post K years as well. That's basically two era's, and a level of success hard to find among HW's. Really he could be top 30 ATG if he beats Wilder.

If Wilder wins, he'll firmly establish himself as the #2 HW of the initial post K period, establish the post K period as superior to the end K period, and still have a chance later on to be #1 of the period. It really is a historic bout and people should be pleased with all the great action going on at heavyweight now.

Good fight and I'll be watching, but not even close to ATG status. None of the two's in that league yet.

By that rationale , Tyson Fury is already a top 40 ATG.
