Will there be a rematch? Just watched that fight again whilst i wasn't full of bevvy and not in a busy pub and scored it to Quigg pretty clearly this time. First time i scored it to Frampton, which shows what a close fight it was. Surely grounds for a rematch? Has there been any talk recently of whats next for either fighters? I've not been following boxing for the past few weeks and haven't heard much.
I've no major interest in the rematch and I was massively up for it pre-fight. Neither impressed me and both need to go their own routes. Maybe further down the line there will be one, but for now it's a non-issue for me. I wanted Quigg to win, thought Frampton would and scored it by two to Carl on the night.
Scored it to Frampton on the night myself like i said but this time around i really watched it and alot of Framptons shots hit arms. Quiggs defence is pretty solid. Being a split decision too makes it more of a case for a rematch as well surely. If we have to endure another Pac v Bradley fight surely this one would be more appropriate than that baws.
Two wrongs don't make a right! No need for the Pac Man - Bradley trilogy as we all know. The fight itself stunk the place out for the first six rounds and it's just not got the public's desire to see a rematch I don't feel.
Let me get this straight - you scored it correctly when you were drunk, but wildly inaccurately when sober??:huh (To answer your question, no demand for a rematch. Quigg simply wasnt competitive - they're at different levels)
Fampton decisively beat the man you predicted would win by knockout, breaking his jaw in the process........and youre not impressed??:huh :scaredas:
Its tough to take ^ seriously given all his pre-fight guff about Carl lying on the canvass after a devastating Quigg ko....ha ha ha ..
Boxing is subjective as you know, i won't insult your intelligence by going into that i'm sure you know this already. I thought Quigg was definitely competitive though, i'm a Frampton fan, but Quigg looked strong and landed some good shots in the second half of the fight. I'm also not debating the result, the first half of the fight was guff and it was all down to who you gave a round to that neither man deserved to really take it. But i don't accept that there is a great deal between the two fighters at all.
I certainly won't be paying for it again. If there paths cross again so be it but it shouldn't be in the immediate future
Frampton won the first half because he actually let his hands go. He hardly landed a clean shot but Quigg landed NOTHING. Both didn't get hit but one guy was actually throwing shots so they have to go to Frampton. Quigg did better in the 2nd half but the rounds were close in the 2nd half. Frampton won 8-4 for me. As for a rematch I would be interested if Quigg beat Rigo or Donaire.
That's the difference no doubt, even though the gloves were blocking all the shots it's been the activity the judges have favored, but Quiggs defence is superb, he rolls punches very well, and his big high guard was excellent. Will be interesting to see who he gets next and how he comes back from the mangled jaw.
I can't see it happening, it wasn't a good fight, it certainly didn't justify PPV. Who would want to watch that again? I can understand why Quigg wants it again but why would Frampton?
