There's plenty of time for Parker and Joshua to be exposed.

Come on, if Wlad were 5 years younger everyone would still be saying he's defending against bums.

"Exposed". Kinda sick of this term. These guys are good enough to watch, enjoy it. They all have strengths and weaknesses and are all polishing their craft, just enjoy it being exciting seeing how the styles clash and don't ruin it for yourself and others by treating any weakness as a complete fail.

I completely agree. But suggesting they will be major factors in this becoming a great era for the division is extremely premature.

It'd be great if they did, but so many prospects/contenders hit a wall after looking so good initially.

    Agreed

And I think Mayweather proved a massive market in boxing, so hopefully more athletes get into it.

Of course - but to me it's more of a case of the division is competitive and exciting, Wlad in his prime may arguably be a more dominant force than the guys coming through... but these guys are fighters. This is what I'm excited about :)

This era has gone from one of the worst in history to average. This era is searching for a new dominant hvw champion that the world loves to watch. The K brothers were dominant, but the world didn't care for them like they did past greats probably through no fault of their own. This era will never become the best ever.

It will be the best era IF and I stress IF, the sanctioning bodies remove voluntary fights, and have all title holders contracted to fight the next man in the queue.

I don't see it happening, but the IBF have already started making things fall into place by removing Fury as title holder due to his Wlad contract, sorting the Parker vs Takam bout for #1 mandatory, lining up Pulev vs Chisora bout for #2, and the IBF has "relatively" strict rulings on when they need to face the mandatory.

The WBA has their tournament, sorting out who faces who through to the supreme or deluxe champion (whatever they call it).

I think things are heading in the right direction, and lessons have been learnt during the quiet era of the Klits when boxing took a big downturn (in the HWs).

As soon as Wlad goes away, this is becoming the best era ever!

At the moment it could be the best or it could be even worse than the one before it.

There are a lot of untested title holders and contenders at the moment. Fury has 2 good wins on his record, Martin has none, Browne has one solid win which maybe reversed, Wilder is about to only have the 2nd test of his career and contenders like Joshua, Parker are about to step up to world level but we don't know if that will succeed until they do step up.

The division is in transition at the moment. The old guard are fading away with Wlad, Adamek and Helenius all losing recently. Will the next gen be any better, it's hard to say but the potential is there.

From the 70's maybe only Foreman could crack today's top 10...

They were tweeners, not big and strong enough...

People need to learn about weight classes.

So Fury beating Wlad (once) makes him more ''evolved'' than Lewis, Ali, Tyson etc.?
