Charles Martin is getting £6 million for the Joshua fight!

I get that people wishing him well and good on him etc, but this isn't good for boxing. No wonder so many big fights don't get made when you have completely average fighters (champions or not, and even that is debatable considering how he got the title) making such big money.

 

My apologies, it's from Nick Parkinson from ESPN boxing. Still rather credible though and would explain why Martin was so quick to fight shower rather than milk the title for a year or so

Why is it a cash out? Martin could have earned just as much fighting mandatories and still had the big fights later down the line.

Pitiful excuse I know, when he gave me that bs line, I took him by the neck and shoved him on his way and warned him that he'd been reported.

 

iven the hype Sky have behind this and how casuals love everything to do with AJ I can see this doing at least 600 k. The fight doesn't warrant that number, but that's casuals for you. 600 k at 16.95 a pop is over £10 million. I'd imagine Joshua is on a couple of million, certainly less than Martin who they had to drag over with a big cheque.

Then there's sponsors, money from showtime who are airing the fight, the gate receipt, it all adds up.
