He put himself in Team Fury's hands and they openly admitted having a long-term plan for him that involved a long period of very careful matchmaking before dipping his toes into deep waters again.

Oh, this is on that card? When the announcement first came up on Eddie's social media there was still nothing on BoxRec to confirm so I assumed it was the big card in the UK that day.

So this will be Chambers' homecoming to American television as well. (although not to American soil, as he knocked out Galen Brown in New Jersey last September, albeit on the main event of a dark card)

His last time on US TV was the one-armed robbery loss to Adamek in Newark on NBC Sports.

If Haymon is willing to rob Mansour, he's damn sure willing to rob Eddie, even though I think he will outbox Washington.

Takes a lot to qualify as a robbery as far as I'm concerned, and that didn't do it. A real robbery there should be no real doubt, that punch stats should reflect a wide disparity, and even then, if the one landing less is landing with a lot more power, its still not a robbery. In this case, the punch stats were almost equal and Adamek appeared to be landing the stronger punches. In his interview immediately afterward, Chambers seemed unsurprised and accepted the loss, only saying he would have done better if not for the arm. The announcer was just so loud and obnoxiously pro Chambers (as a fellow Philly fighter) it biased a lot of viewers.

Yeah but is Haymon thinking short-term gain or playing the long game, is the question...

If he burns his bridges with Team Fury and it comes time for making nice at the negotiating table once a unification between Fury and Wilder rolls around (unless Sasha & Wlad can upset the apple cart and set up the ugly rematch nobody wants :yep) ... :think

Goral's aggression was horrifically ineffective. Even with the one arm Eddie outscored him easily IMO.

I doubt Fury would care all that much, at least not enough for it to stand in the way of him making a ****ton of money, and if that were the case then maybe Fury would want revenge.

But it doesn't matter since Wlad will upset the apple cart in the rematch.:nod
