Explain how Botha got to fight the big names despite being decidedly inferior to Sanders then ...:deal

I see nothing in Sanders to suggest he's 'potentially' an ATG yadda yaddda etc.

He was fringe and not good enough.

To claim his win over Wlad is more impressive than Douglas in Toyko is utterly ridiculous.

I never said nothing about Botha. You said Sanders couldn't get the big fights? He got top ranker Rahman didn't he?
Explain how Gerry Coatzee got the big fights and became a world champ when he came from a bleaker time than Sanders did?
And as far as I'm aware, botha basesd himself out of the US and was willing to fight everyone.

What a pity Dino wasn't a unicorn. Then we'd see him much less often. Instead, he's more insect-based in nature, I'm thinking

    1) Watch his whole career
    2) He was 37 at the time and flattened an ATG in 2 rounds. Douglas was not nearly as old and Tyson was on the slide. I'd say it was a better win in that context.

What's there to rebut? Sanders was always willing to fight anybody.

He asked for Tyson. He asked for Lewis. He asked for Holyfield (who ended up fighting Donald for less). RJJ made noises and Sanders' team swooped on the offer like hawks, only to have Junior withdraw the offer posthaste. He fought Wlad and Vitali at an age when most other boxers are retired.

You don't ask for nicely for big fights. You have to earn them..
Nobody could have avoided him if he kept beating top contenders. But he wasn't was he?
Wlad cherry picked him and losing to him proves Wlad would never of made it in former stronger era's.

Yet, and I repeat (it's like talking to a three year old) guys like Botha got shots against those fighters while being manifestly worse than Sanders.

Sanders wasn't bothered. That had been mentioned in this thread already and not by me.

you just believe he was better in order to give yourself some basis for your argument. Wirthout that belief your argument fails.

Botha actually won a world title, sanders couldn't manage that during his career (except when golden ticketed an undue shot from weak h2h wlad). That puts Botha ahead of Sanders in title terms at least - Corrie did get close to such a title shot, but didn't have the ability to go all the way and land on.

I don't get you - Wlad pyssed on you by picking such an unworthy opponent for the title! And to this day, over a decade later, the kliturd hasn't gleaned that fact yet, instead he chooses to keep defending wladdie! its amazing. YOU SHOULD BE RAMPANT FOR BEING CHEATED, not defending him.

:patsch I guess you missed the bit where Sanders KTFO Wlad? He also was WBU champion for several defences. And Botha apparently handed his strap to Axel because he felt he didn't deserve it.

Why the fvck should I be ****ed off with Corrie for defying the odds and grabbing his chance when it presented itself? :nut:nut

(Damn but Herol is dof sometimes)
