If GGG gets all 4 major belts, he would have more bargain power to negotiate a fight with Canelo. GGG could ask a resonable c/w of 157-158 lbs.

Also as you said he could call Canelo's bluff and come on the weigh in @ 160 lbs, of course if he doesn't get penalised too much in terms of money.

Ward is a good guy. He has zero security with him and you can just ask him almost anything when you see him.
The internet if filled with tough talk but when these guys are out and about it's all love, unless you are present Manny Pacquiao in L.A., THEN JUST STAY THE HELL OUT OF THE STREETS.

Totally agree. He said anybody from 154-168 but he meant that by division. He will face 154 fighter, 160 and 168. Im sure he was ready to haggle over catchweights for fighters coming from 154 and from 168, he wasnt expecting to have to haggle over a catchweight from a fellow Middleweight.

I like the fact he is standing firm on this 160 thing with Canelo but then it isnt costing me potentially millions of dollars. I believe they have played the long game and allowed GBP their step aside payments in the full belief that eventually they will get to that point where its time to fight or lose the belt. But i also believe they have too much faith in the WBC being fair and honest.

So really i do think the smart, the best and the easiest thing to do was to do what you said, go at 155 or barter over another pound or 2. I dont see Canelo having a chance at all, size advantage or not (which Canelo prob would have at anything under 160). Gaining a belt and a better payday than he has been getting.

But if im honest i dont really have any faith in GBP and Alverez taking this fight. Gut feeling is if K2 had agreed to 155 straight from the off Oscar would of come back with another massive spanner to throw into the works. Cuz they all know GGG wins 10 out of 10 times against Alverez. They dont want this fight at any weight let alone 155.

Thank you for telling it like it is. Bumlovkin needs Canelo - not the other way around. Team Triple duck likes to play the "A" side game until they're confronted with a situation where they clearly are NOT the "A" side.

You're absolutely correct, Bumlovkin should call Canelo's bluff, accept the 155lb catchweight, get him in the ring and commence to beating his ass. If not, be happy continuing on your Bum of the Month tour - or move up and get handed your first L.

PS - your singing voice doesn't know Shi'ite about boxing.

    Lol...

the video makes sense to casuals...but the true boxing fans know that Gena meant 154 means floyd for his title and 168 means froch for his title..and like Gena said if canelo wants lower weigh get a new contract and new title..would Gena fight floyd at 154 heck ye he will..will Gena fight froch at 168 heck ye he will
but they both retired....the casuals will like this video though

Good video Rummy.:good Fair and balanced as usual. Yes I agree I would like to see them call Canelo's bluff. As for step aside money I'm sure Oscar has plenty set aside to shield Canelo.:yep
