Effectively official. Top Rank sent the contract and has been waiting for Postol to sign it, which he did this morning. The official announcement is now just a formality. This is done. July 23rd. HBO PPV. WBO & WBC (and Ring Magazine) 140lb championship unification.
Postscript: Roberto Durán (you know, that guy that's Shane Mosley's new coach) vs. Julio César Chávez Sr. (father of the famed Omar Chávez) in a 2-round exhibition match on the PPV. Seriously. :blood
Postscript #3: in light of this news, fairly major announcement regarding this forum (but not relevant outside here) to come soon.
It did get made. Postol signed the contract this morning. All that's left is Bob actually holding a press conference.
This is a good fight. Postol will give Crawford problems with his size and height but Crawford should take this one. I feel Crawford fighting all of these speedy guys lately will make it seem like Postol is fighting in slow motion to him.
Well, Crawford did fight Dulorme, Jean and Lundy back to back, so you can´t blame anyone for expecting another soft touch for Crawford.
I agree. I expect Crawford will start taking Postol apart around the middle rounds. I never understood the "ducking" part with Crawford. He has a mean streak a mile wide and would get in the ring with Golovkin if Arum made that fight.
