Looks like I slightly misjudged the Haye Briggs situation. Instead of a duck from Haye, it now looks more like a clever promotional buildup (of course, Haye is still milking it by facing a nobody now, and then only a fringe top 40 guy in Briggs, but that is still more than I thought he'd be willing to do before getting a cash out fight against Joshua). Still, Haye gets as high reward, low risk a fight as possible in Briggs. What should be a big purse, and if he wins, a victory that will be seen as a good stepping stone to Joshua.

Anyway, what are Briggs chances here? Haye should be the favorite, but after what will be 4 years since facing a contender, shoulder surgeries, and a 15 lb weight gain, Briggs should be a live underdog. Power and chin usually don't decline even in your 40's, and those are Briggs strengths. Haye's potential loss of speed and mobility could be perfect for Briggs; the slight power gain the weight will give Haye will be less effective against Briggs than the speed, surprise, and elusiveness that he'd be giving up. I'll give Briggs a solid 25% chance here.

Briggs gasses out after 2 rounds chasing Haye around. Haye takes over, stuns him, backs him up and finishes him off in a 'premature' stoppage by the referee.

Briggs does not leave his feet.

    Haye should easily win this.

Briggs even during his 90s prime wasn't anything special. Now he's pretty much a durable trialhorse at best. He can still punch but his gas tank is horrible and he's soooo slow. Should be an easy night for Haye.

Briggs has fought one opponent with a pulse since 2007 and they gave him a horrendous beating. Haye has only fought one opponent with a pulse since July 2011 himself though. He's only fought twice since Wlad.

Haye should be ridiculed for this.

This is worse than anything he has done before by far, Haye is now officially an embarrassment to British boxing.

I hate fights like this. Rubbish mathc up that will end up happening purely out of sicial media and youtube vids flying around.

I dont mind Haye taking this fight as long as he makes it quick after May 21st and doesnt hang around making this his last fight this year.

Wouldn't watch it, but I'd be glad someone was finally giving Briggs that money.

Punchers chance in the early rounds... After that his chances of winning are effectively gone. Haye KO once Briggs gasses. RD 5 or 6

Just watching Briggs being schooled by Ibragimov for 12 rounds. The guy is slow as a snail. He's not got the reflexes, or the speed to catch Haye. I don't think he'll get blown out early, but I do think his corner pulls him out in the later rounds.
