Greg respect is earned, not given. Had you learned that lesson at some point before you became a miserable obsessive ***** you MIGHT have gotten some sympathy from me. But your first interaction on this board was to rabidly attack anyone who didnt think the sun shone out darcys ass and it just got worse from there. Because im more vocal youve focused in on me and have since been following me around the net, across several forums, attempting to antagonize me. I have no more sympathy or concern for you than an irritating mosquito. The best thing i can say about you is that MAYBE your condition is to blame for asinine behavior and MAYBE if you didnt have that condition youd be a different, more worthwhile human being. But i live in the real world and your not. So no, i dont care a whit about you and i dont even think thats mean. Youve made a complete ass of yourself more times than i can count directly at me, over boxing, BOXING! And because you have cancer im supposed to give you a pass or feel sorry for you. Your wasting what precious time you have trolling me on the net and im supposed to have sympathy for you and take it and act like you arent a complete tool for how you choose to act and how you choose to waste your finite time? The sad thing is greg here came on here saying i bad mouthed my friend doug cavanaughs book. I asked him to show me where and he cant. Little does he know im helping doug with his book as we speak. Doug just sent me an email saying "this guy is obsessed with you" and it has a link on facebook from greg saying that i trashed dougs book. But then greg wants to pretend hes not following me around the net trolling. Pretty sad that some limp **** chemo boy has to lie in order to try to smear me to my friends. Im supposed to feel sympathy for you? Youve been doing this **** since before anyone knew you had cancer. So no, good riddence, wont shed a tear when you are gone. Just natures way of taking out the trash.

I wouldn't say Im falling for it. More that I know how worked up it gets him and that's not good for anybody, so hopefully Im speeding him along his journey to salvation. Like Ive said before, I type fast and enjoy exposing idiots so it doesn't really take as much out of me or my day to watch a slack jawed troglodyte who lacks opposable digits try to tread water on numerous topics hes clearly in over his head. I know that sounds harsh but go back and reread Greg's posts from day one to now if you can stomach them and then come back here and tell me he doesn't warrant them. I mean, whether you hate me or like me, agree or disagree, I think most would at least say I have added something topical to the forum on a regular basis. Can anyone truly say that about Greg? Can anyone really consider his incessant Darcy fanboyism and his constant trolling of me worthwhile? If he stopped showing up today would anyone say, in six months, "gee I miss that guys contributions"? Doubt it, unless you just miss the fact that he trolls me because you don't like me. If that's the case go start an anti-klompton forum (Im sure thered be plenty of people signing up) and leave boxing history to people with an open mind and some knowledge of the subject.

The only thing hes contributed even remotely to this entire discussion was that article from Vreeland and then he had to go and shoot himself in the foot by not knowing anything about the eagle or Vreeland. Calling him this great respected boxing journalist. As if I don't know who Vreeland was. Go look down at the bottom of page 691 of my book and tell me I didn't use exactly this article as one of my sources. Then go back and read not just one article that you actually went out of your way to find to support your argument but a LOT of Vreeland's articles and tell me how respected he was. Had you ever heard of him before finding that article? Anyone? Vreeland's main beat was horse racing, he was pulled in time to time to cover for Thomas Rice who was the Eagles main boxing writer. Both Rice and Vreeland were often so off base in their fight recaps and their boxing reporting in general that its common to find letters printed from fans in the Eagle correcting them or taking them to task. Case in point was the letter published immediately following Greb-Gibbons where a fan takes the writer to task for being so biased against Greb that he cant see how brilliant he was. But we wouldn't want to write about that because it doesn't support the notion of Vreeland's infallibility and it might cast doubt on Vreeland's supposed quote from Greb which diverges so widely from every other newspaper reporter who interviewed Greb immediately after the fight. This is the same paper that ludicrously gave Tunney a draw against Greb in their first fight, which most reports gave Greb 12 rounds of, and stated that Wills was not a suitable opponent for Dempsey immediately after he obliterated Kid Norfolk. So, not exactly a paragon of boxing coverage.

 

Greg's posts can be pretty good. Your posts, Klompton, show an incredible insight into the 20's era of boxing. I wish that you would both cut it out. When you are on form I really enjoy your posts. Here's to hoping. Cheers.
