What is the testing regime in British Isles pro boxing?

    How frequent, how rigorous etc are the tests, who does the testing, is it urine, blood etc etc
    Anybody know the details?

    Drugs in sport is all over the papers right now...another big expose in Britain by the Times.
    I want to discuss it and find out more about how much it is prevalent in boxing and what is being done about it. I think we should be discussing this. Personally I want to find out more.

    Random, year round testing doesn't appear to be happening at all, so its just pre scheduled tests around the time of the fight

    Doping within certain limits is essentially legal within the current system

    'Drug testing' is nothing more than a smokescreen to placate mug punters. Pro sport wants to maintain the status quo. Vested interests.

    The punters think they want to see clean athletes, but they'd lose interest quickly if sprinters were winning gold medals in 10.1 seconds and some of the most impressivel-built rugby players and heavyweight boxers dropped 30-40 pounds of muscle mass next season.
    Everyone seems to want it both ways. :lol:

    ^ from what people are saying here, it's not very reassuring.....not very reassuring at all....
    Things MAY have improved since 2012? Wasn't kid Galahad caught recently.

    There should be frequent, random , thorough detailed testing. Results should be made public, say on a website database of all to see. Apart from name and shame, it would let US the punters know which of our heroes are clean and which are dirty....

    For example I pay for Sky. Tonight I pay extra for PPV. As far as I am concerned I have a right to know, as a consumer, what I am buying, so I can make an informed choice.

    Let's get testing folks!!!

    I've heard Fielding and Bellew speaking about getting random knocks at the door at 4/5am. Dont know how common this is.
