No, he can travel wherever he wants which is an indication he isn't hurting for cash. Plus he has a house, and can use social media to make money. I think it's more that he doesn't respect this newer generation of fighters and thinks he has a shot. He's not doing anything new, George Foreman did something similar and old boxing champs have been following that template since then. Shannon thinking he can catch somebody like big George. I truly believes, he believes he can.

 

Thinking back I remember him getting something like 800.000 to fight Foreman. A guess, is 1,5 mill against Lewis. 600.000 for fighting McCline, 500.000 for his titlewinning fight. 2 million for losing against Ibragimov. Thats 5,4 mill for his biggest fights.And the rest of his career I dont know much about moneywise..

 

He also had a small role in the movie Bad boyz

I'm pretty much sure that wasn´t his paycheck but what was left of it after all the medical bills from the multiple injuries he sustained from that fight were paid.
