Be interesting to see how they might fare in the pros over a longer distance, though.

Also, both fighters have shown fabulous CCA. So, there is that to consider.

Beterbiev was a monster in ams. The likes of a Gvozdyk had no option back then but to throw in order to point-score. It suited Beterbiev more than pros I think, although if Beterbiev uses his strength and size to rough his opponent, he would be virtually unstoppable.
Beterbiev with a Maidana esque approach would be scary.

Roy Jones Jr. and Floyd Mayweather Sr. (who trains him) both have called Devin Haney the 'next big thing in boxing'. :think

He shares 3 common opponents with Egor Mekhontsev now - Felipe Romero, Jackson Junior, and Joey Vegas and he stopped all of them (2 within 4 rounds) whereas they all lasted the 8 round distance against Mekhonstev. :yep

Yeah, Beterbiev absolutely mauled Cloud on the inside.

I was so hyped when Egor turned pro, but he's been really disappointing so far

He does have a bit more substance than usual behind the hype, though. He was a top amateur, ranked #1 in the US for a time. 7x national champion, performed well internationally, and went 130-8 overall.

I never thought Mekhontsev was as big a deal as some (whereas Bivol is even better than most think)

I think the gold medal is what got most people excited (myself included)

    I watched Haney-Stevenson,
Skakur Stevenson is better than Haney.

I think Gvozdyk improved considerably since they fought each other. Or so I'm told. I only became aware of him a while after that.

 I haven't even paid any attention to Artur's CCA. The fact that I haven't is obviously a good thing, I would've noticed it had it been below par. I think he donned red and black for the Cloud fight IIRC. That's one of my favourite colour combinations
