I think he deserved to have a loss like that given his age and what he's accomplished.

Although his performance in that fight was...

Overall, counting Byrd and Peter twice. Who did better then?

Edit: my rough count for Holyfield is 11.
    Holmes 12?

Exactly. I don't see any fighter in the future being given a lot of credit by everyone. Every fighter has a brigade of haters and detractors in this age, it's inevitable.

Clinched , hugged and fouled his way through the worst dossier of unskilled , non movers the division has ever produced.

Got exposed by the best guys he faced.

I think Wlad's legacy will get better as the time goes on. He'll be remembered as the first dominant champion in the era of Super Heavyweights and people will eventually realize that people with 110kg+ can't move as fast around the ring but it doesn't mean that they're "sloppy" or "bums".

The problem is that he's compared to fighters of the past eras who have been heavily romanticized and overrated to at least some extent because they were bigger cultural icons and more popular in the USA which is the home of modern pop culture.

Klitschko brothers represent the new era of heavyweight boxing in which 2m tall fighters are becoming the norm. It's practically a new division which should be viewed by different standards. There simply aren't that many men on the planet who're that tall and heavy and can box for 12 rounds, so the talent pool of elite athletes who could beat Klitschko is smaller. But the reality is all those ATGs of the past wouldn't last in modern HW division for that long, they would be shot early in their career having to go through wars with much heavier and taller men.

Joshua is already bigger than Wlad ever was.

The memory Wlads 10 years of tedium is going to be completely eradicated within the next two years .

He did nothing for the sport of boxing , therefore he will leave nothing behind to be remembered for.

Joshua is overrated and has achieved practically nothing in professional boxing.

Wlad is still the biggest boxing star in the world. His rematch with Fury is the biggest boxing event of this year.

Only in Britain. And as usual this is another moronic, bitter hate filled post by you. Joshua has yet to beat a top 10 fighter.

It would for me. At this point in time I see Wlad and his brother as dominant champs against weak opposition. I look at them and see almost everyone they faced were much smaller than them(not their fault), not truly committed, ie guys coming in fat and out of shape(not their fault again) and past their prime guys and quite frankly bad fighters.

But if Wlad could bounce back, beat Fury, then Wilder and Joshua that would completely change my opinion of him. I would have to put him high on the ATG list then. Say what you want about Fury being out of shape but the guy is 6'9 and can box a bit, and is in prime. And Wilder and Joshua are huge, powerful athletic freaks in the prime of their careers. Say what you want about Wilder, dude isn't ever going to come into a fight looking like hasn't trained for it. Wilder has a saying he don't need to get in shape, he stay in shape. Sounds simple but for a lot of boxers that's far from simple. And if he can beat Joshua who in my eyes is the best fighter in the world and has a chance to be the best fighter ever that would totally change my view of him.

But it's not going to happen. It's 50/50 if he can beat Fury imo. Very doubtful he can beat Wilder. And I don't it's possible for him to beat Joshua.

We can even throw Luis Ortiz in there as well even though he is getting up there in age and is only 6'4. Dude is very powerful and has boxing skills. If Wlad were to beat him right now that would be the best win of his career as of right now.

I want to see Wlad beat someone who

1)Has some height....6'6 or taller(which also usually mean power) and the fact they should be able to control distance.
    2)Who is in shape
3)Who is in their prime(or very close to it)
    4)Who has some athleticism
    5)Who can box a bit

Wlad never beat anybody that had all 5 of those things. Joshua does. Honestly I can't remember Wlad beating anyone that had 4 of those qualities. We saw him struggle at times with Wach who is a huge man but doesn't have much athleticism or boxing skills..

Wlad never headlined a PPV in his entire career and defended his championship on Eurosport.

Never had the HW Crown been swept to the side like that till Wlad got his mitts on it.

Joshua is overrated because he's black and looks ripped. That's why you have American re****s hyping him claiming how "athletic" he is. If some white guy with a bit more body fat would show the same "athletic" skills as Joshua no one would hype him. And yeah, he's big in Britain.

Ohh bloody hell so in your eyes because Joshua has headlined a ppv he has achieved more in boxing LMAO.

Let us know when Joshua beats a top 10 fighter, becomes number 1 in the division and clears out the division. Then maybe we can start comparing legacies.

who is overrating him because hes black and looks ripped?

surely the ripped thing holds back his stamina.

not sure what his skin colour has to do with anything though,.

What makes Joshua more "athletic" than Wach then? Did you measure his vertical jump? Can he sprint faster? The only reason why people say he's "athletic" is because he's black and looks like a bodybuilder, same goes for Wilder.

Wach has a granite chin and so far is more proven than Joshua. His brutal KO win over Hammer is better than anything Joshua has on his resume. Watch has all 5 of those things.
