Coming from Hearn I'd question it.

Maybe but I do think out of a choice between the two would pick Joshua. His the more popular fighter.

Obviously as the casuals are lapping it up. 4 guys st my work bought the ppv on sat and they know as much about boxing as I do about cricket.

Difficult for the press that night if this does happen- which do they attend? I think this more of a strategical move from Hearn than anything else.

SKY and Hearn are a bit poisonous to boxing, if this is true.

"They see Joshua as the future" ... so what ?? It's not the future yet, is it ?

Fury v Klitschko is the most prestigious HW fight out there. Fury is the most credible HW champ, the REAL HW champ. The most credible HW Britain has had since Lennox Lewis.

By all means, promote and hype Joshua as much as they want, that's their investment. But to pretend Fury and Klitschko are less important as of now, 2016, is just pathetic.

Boxing will never be taken seriously as a proper sport with broadcasters and promoters causing so much confusion for their own selfish ends.

Not that it matters. I'm sure BoxNation will do a good job. SKY's loss.

which means very little if the fight is poor. The first fight sucked and not a chance the 2nd fight would sell 400k PPV's like the first fight did.

Yeah, agree. Also, generally I think Hearn has done a good job, but this is a bizarre decision. Why cut into the market of someone you should be only trying to make more marketable, considering you will be facing him eventually? Build up the fight by holding the fight one week after. Have Joshua present at the Fury Klitschko fight with his opponent, which could only build interest in both their fight one week later, and the eventual Fury Joshua fight.

I think negotiations for that fight would be a nightmare.

Joshua would claim he was A side being the bigger draw and Fury wouldn't have that.

I think on SKY Box Office, the rematch does better than the 1st fight. Far more people know who Fury is now. A lot of people hate him and want him to be beat. Wlad is out for revenge. It's marketable.

Anyway, it's not all about short-term numbers, it's about broadcasting the most prestigious fights featuring British fighters.

Back in the 1990s SKY broadcast Lennox Lewis through times when he had very little interest, and appeared in dull fights.
    Calzaghe's another one.

It's up to them, they are losing out here.

Attending fans will be the biggest losers. The gate will be down for both - diluted by the other fight and ignored that want to watch both and can only do so in at home/pub

Even if scheduled at different times, no chance either will show the other fight. Matchroom didn't even even show martin Murray when we were at the Crolla fight

Losing how? They have a HW who drew 400k ppv buys in a domestic dust up v Dillan Whyte?

Remember Sky can pick up Fury down the road if they want. It's not like there are an abundance of options available. It's Sky or Box nation.

Now who's to say they wouldn't of shown the fight on a different date? I'm saying if it's a choice between Fury or Joshua on July 9th you go with the guy who draws the money and that's Joshua.

The fight will be big because of Fury being more in the public eye now. He will ramp up the publicity stunts etc and get a lot of attention for the fight. Glad to see it on Boxnation and not PPV!

Apparently sky were up for it but the date kept on moving to clash with their 'guy' Joshua's fight eventually so sky said no. If Tyson Fury wasn't such a controversial figure you can bet sky would be up for it. But he is and so they don't really need the aggravation
