Boxing will survive, as it has before, not sure why folks are worried, even in the US.

Boxing has survived what over 50 years since the TBE Ray Robinson retired, so I believe it will continue to thrive without him. Having written that, in America most people can't accept that A. We simply don't produce great fighters like we used to. And B. Boxing has taken off globally, and therefore, does quite well outside the US. Even though we all root for our own on some level or another, there are so many good fighters from everywhere that it is easy to still be a fan if you can appreciate fighters from all parts of the globe just on their performances alone.

Yet another poster who doesn't have a clue what IVs do, had never heard of them a year ago and attempts to write with authority from a position of ignorance.

Boxing will always have stars and new fighters to take the reigns, a non Mayweather or Pacquiao fight just did 1mil, people are excited for guys like GGG Gonzalez, huge matchup on the way in Kova-Ward, a resurgence of interest at HW, and emerging division like WW JMW.

My only hope is that this generation can live up to the greats that proceeded them, in May, Pac, Hop, Wlad etc..

Boxing was far better before he came along and will be better off without him in the future.

Most of his fights were terrible to watch.

Fans would often leave the arena before his fights were even over.

Boxing is supposed to be entertaining and it will miss Pacquiao far more than it will Mayweather.

Actually I'm well aware of what IVs do, having had several of them myself due to being hospitalized. It's obvious what Floyd was using the IV for. Do you not see the humor in Floyd's excessive fluidity or shall I jab you back to your namesake?

It's impressive that boxing has survived His Gayness.

But his rotten roots remains, and the consequences are there to be seen: boxers padding their records like there's no tomorrow, hugging their 0s like they're the only thing that counts.

Casuals dismissing anyone with a loss on his resume, etc. etc.

First of all more like 80% watched hoping to see Floyd lose. 2nd there wasn't much else to watch, but with the rise of GGG, Kov, Crawford, there's alot of talent to take over the PPV spot and these guys are legit warriors who come to FIGHT and KO people. Floyd stepping down is only going to help these guys elevate their popularity so its a good thing FLoyd is gone. Floyd was only PPV king because Oscar basically handed it to him by fighting him and then retiring. Alot of people thought PPV Boxing would die when Oscar left, he was the one that made it an event and was the first non HW PPV king. Nobody would have thought Floyd would take over that spot, but with all the greats washed up and nobody else to watch for a while, fans were forced to pay attention just for the love of boxing. The day anyone imaged the PPV king would be a guy that couldn't KO a mosquito and puts on sparring events. But now we have a few real warriors coming up with real talent. Boxing will only get better and more popular now. Floyd was in the way before, he was bad for boxing. But he was in the right place at the right time, simple as that.

Boxing will be better without his extreme cherry picking, corruption, and sophisticated cheating.

Manny retiring is a big deal but there are some promising fighters that could produce big events like the pacman.
