You are deluded if you think a man who got rocked by Rigor Mortis Hopkins would walk through the shots of Tommy Hearns....

    "rocked," eh? :think

But by your logic, how does a man who's been knocked out by a welterweight and middleweights endure the blows of one of the hardest punching light-heavyweights of all time?

So he wasn't rocked by Hopkins then????

Quite easy, by landing one of your big rights before the slower Kovalev lands his....

burt, in my estimation, Billy Conn ranks amongst the elite of lightheavy champs.....and I would confidently pick him over Kovalev at this time....actually, Kov is still a work in progress....but there are others besides Conn that I think would beat Serge....Loughran, Galindez, Moore,...maybe,...Foster, Harold Johnson...Charles and Tunney of course,...but that could all change in the not too distant future...because, like I say, Kovalev is still evolving as a fighter. He's the best in the division today...he'll feast on Adonis, and will be too strong and hard edged for Andre Ward.

But what exactly have you seen in Kovalev that makes you confident that he loses to Billy Conn?

I would comfortably favor Ezzard Charles to beat him. Charles IMO is the greatest LHW fighter in H2H matchups.

You mean, what have I seen that makes me confident that Conn would beat Kovalev? Let's make it a positive here...Conn beats Kovalev in my opinion...Kov doesn't "lose" to him. Conn was one of the greatest lightheavies/small heavies of all time, and despite his fine victories over the Lesniviches, Bettinas. Kriegers, Apostolis and Yaroszs,....the 1st Louis bout alone seals it for me. I know you don't think as highly of Joe Louis (or Conn, for that matter) as most of us do here,...but after coming so close as he did to unseating the Brown Bomber, I don't think that Billy would have had that much to fear from any lightheavyweight champion, barring possibly Charles or Tunney...and I say "possibly" because, despite the brevity of Conn's reign as hightheavy champ, a factor that screws him over when discussing the greatest in the 175 lb division,...it's my opinion, as well as many other's in my past 50+ years of following boxing, that Conn was indeed a H2H monster, despite his lack of a big punch. The form Conn displayed vs Louis alone...even in a losing bout,....the speed, confidence, boxing skills, and *****,....would have carried him to victory over a still developing Serge Kovalev.....again, IMO.

A timed stamped post. Things will change once he faces Ward.

It's best to judge on what you see. Kovalev is great.

Bob Foster is universally accepted as a top 8 ATG at light heavy, yet outside of a 5'8" 38-year-old Di@k Tiger, his light heavyweight title defense seem rather pedestrian.

Getting back to Ward, he's great, in his prime and undefeated. How many better wins at light heavy have their been in the past 20 years?
