Demanding to a 9 years older guy to go down 5 pounds must be a really brave thing...

You must be a very, very insecure fighter to ask such a cowardly demand to a 9 years older guy. :think

Everyone here has probably lost five pounds dieting for a week or two. Five pounds is nothing unless you are already cutting twenty to artificially make an unnatural weight you have no business fighting at. I don't have a problem with anybody wanting catch weights. I think a lot of people just use the weight as an excuse not to fight difficult challengers or as a bargaining chip in negotiations. Besides, fights are typically announced three months to a year out from when they are fought. If you can't lose five pounds in that period then you are a terrible excuse for an athlete. James Toney once lost fifty pounds in a month.

I've never seen so many grown 'men' defend a duck and a catch-weight, but again shockmaster and other floydettes are not men, they are trannies.

5 lbs for us is easy. 5 lbs for an athlete already cutting weight is hell.

These are dumb posters who think that cutting down 5 lbs of muscle from your normal weight class is no so much big deal. Even cutting down 1-2 lbs could affect you pretty badly.

The C0ckmaster is a syphilitic tranny.

We should all just move on from Canelo vs GGG. It isnt guna happen. 155 is just the 1st of GBP,s line of excuses to not make this fight happen. Oscar knows Alverez loses to GGG and a few of the other top Middles. Should GGG accept 155 then excuse 2 will come out which could be debated about for a good couple of years. Dont know what that is, prob something about dropping back down to 154.

It isnt guna happen at any weight.

I think Canelo will vacate and claim he is going back down to 154.

Cutting 5 lbs when you are overweight is nothing. Cutting 5 lbs from your fighting weight when you already only have a few % body fat is only coming from one place... muscle. A cynical ploy from Canelo to drain and weaken Golovkin to try and stack the cards a bit more in his favour. Let's face it, he is supposed to be the lineal MW champion. Man up and fight within the allotted bounds of a MW fight. Golovkin is a mandatory, as per the rules you cannot force a mandatory challenger to accept catch weights or distorted purse splits. If Canelo can't handle this, he should vacate a **** off down to JMW and stop disgracing the sport.

Even if you are in shape you can lose plenty of weight in a healthy way. You just have to change your diet and exercise. Go vegan or do more cardio instead of weight training. For a professional athlete this should be the simplest thing in the world.

It should only be a problem if you don't change your diet and exercise and try to cut an additional five pounds of weight the day of the weigh ins. But if you do it gradually over several months there should be no issue.

Canelo is being a *****, but I think it's still something that Golovkin could easily do.

If GGG is a small MW, as I have heard some say, then it shouldn't be an issue. Get the weight down and get the fight made...or just sit back and collect a paper title. His choice.
