This is an interesting one. Washington didn't perform as horribly vrs. Mansour as is often made out. He dominated Mansour for the first few rounds and looked like a solid prospect. Then he gassed. Bad.

If Washington fixed his conditioning then maybe he has a shot at upsetting Chambers. That's a big ask though.

Chambers' skills are a level above Mansour but I'm not sure if he has the athletic capacity and aggression to take it to Washington in the late rounds like Mansour did. If Chambers relies on counters instead of pressuring Washington then maybe it's advantage Washington.

Odds are Chambers will land a desicive counter at some point during the fight. How is Washington's chin?

Eddie Chambers needs to retire if he loses to Gerald Washington.

But Mansour is a way tougher fight than slow Eddie.. Mansour would destroy eddie, even right now at 45.

The best HW's of our time? That's quite a stretch, he fought 4 good HW's IMO, and has losses against 3 of them, then descended into a level that couldn't even be considered journeyman level given where he had risen to. His "career" over the last 4 years or so has been one of obscurity.

    Yeah...

Chambers has a solid enough résumé but really has faced just one heavyweight you say is among "the best of his era" - WK.

Not to mention I was by no means disparaging Eddie by applauding him for stepping it up again, finally. It was disheartening as fans of Chambers' to see him toiling in mediocrity for that long when all of us know he can perform at much higher levels!

Surely Povetkin has done enough to be considered among "the best of his era".

True...and Eddie actually led on most knowledgeable fans' scorecards around the halfway point (until he pulled an ODLH and sheathed the jab that had brought him early success) but that Sasha was green and not as disciplined or well-conditioned as he'd later be.

If you go to YT there's about 3 pages worth of video game simulations of Eddie Chambers faces every relevant HW in the last 50 years, just put Eddie Chambers Vs. and upload date option. Not sure who's behind that. But could it be Eddie himself.:think

I'd give him more credit than that, I'd put, Wlad, Povetkin, Adamek and Peter as among the 10 best of their era, and Chambers did well against Povetkin and Adamek and (arguably) beat (an out of shape) Peter. The Dimitrenko he beat was a fringe top 15 type guy, and Brock was a fringe top 10 guy. All told, was himself a top 10 of his era guy.

I have a bad feeling Chambers will be robbed, Washington will do his best McHunu impersonation for the first 4 or 5 rounds, he'll gas and Chambers will come on strong towards the end and lose a controversial SD.:verysad PBC has proved time and time again, they don't care what anybody thinks, they keep the bad decisions coming like they're on a conveyer belt.

...and Eddie doesn't exactly have an equalizer (or rather, Washington's chin isn't bad enough for Eddie's meager HW pop to cover the ground needed to dismiss the judges) :think
