So GGG can duck DeGale at 168 but open to fight Ramirez for his title?

I mean even this thread alone, look at this ****, so Golovkin wants to fight Ramirez, a pretty *****y move I'd say, open to fight a much bigger guy in his first fight at the weight or so the OP assumes (let's disregard whether this is true or not for now), and what do we get? He's ducking DeGale. My point is illustrated right here.

ya....i think you are taking the thread a little too seriously...i think it was meant to rattle the cages of ggg fans

it is odd though right? that hed be trying to make fights with big guy like chavez....try to make one with froch....mention degale....now ramirez who is huge

but said 164 for a guy that has fought 90 something percent of his career at 168 in ward?

Not really odd at all. Ward is clearly better than those guys you mentioned so in that case Golovkin wasn't willing to give up such a size advantage to Ward like he would with the other guys. But unfortunately, while GGG was willing to bend 50% up to meet Ward in the middle, ol Andre wasn't willing to give an inch. He saw what that did to Dawson I suppose. It's a shame but that's how these things go sometimes.

that would be like ward going up for barrera...fighting paul smith....maybe tavoris cloud......or some other lhw...and then telling kovalev "171 bro"....

u dont go up to a division looking to make fights and then tell the best guy there to screw by offering him a cw you know he wont make......thats womanly stuff...especially for a guy who hasnt accomplished anything noteworthy......its exposes himself as a protected attempted cherrypicker

Ward is campaigning at LHW now, that's the difference. G never planned on campaigning at SMW. You want him to do what Andre clearly wouldn't do either, which is fight the very best guy in the division up straight away without testing the waters first.

Don't you see how that can come across as you making a double standard against GGG, like you accuse others of doing for GGG?

I think it's gone from what initially started as trolling to actual delusion. And to be honest, I'll never be convinced he ducked Ward, did he avoid the fight in that particular instance? Yes, obviously. But avoiding the fight in the context that it happened in doesn't constitute a duck for me personally.

And since the fight will probably never happen unless Ward loses and decides to move down, and there's some other scenario that would prove it, it'll just remain that way to me.

    in all seriousness and honesty

how can u not see he ducked ward?

the guy has floated the names of a few 168lb(all around wards size or bigger) and was in serious talks with two other guys( both around wards size also) at 168.....then ward....who has fought literally 90 percent of his career at 168...he tells him nope.......i dunno what else you would call that

maybe u dont wanna call it a duck....but you gotta call it something...its a duck to me....its obvious that he doesnt fancy his chances against ward at all and knows a loss would derail his "brand"

its time to face it...ggg attempts to cherrypick or just floats guys names to make things sound interesting and then just goes on to fight c level middleweights......hes a businessman.....hes not some savior/throwback here to save boxing

Ward wasn't active and had promotional problems, there were some question marks about his career at that point. A move to 168 other than that fight didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense and he'd never fight Ward in his first fight at the weight, also, I didn't even feel like he acutally had to fight Ward anyway at that point.

this is the telling one though....ward is a pretty straight forward, no nonsense, honest guy......so this is telling to me....im not saying ward isnt capable of some spin himself....but i tend to believe him

When a guy has a unification fight lined up and a mandatory position for the lineal champion in his own weight class, I have a hard time calling it a "duck" when an offer to go up a full weight class against the very best guy there(who isn't a huge draw) gets turned down. It woulda been totally ***** out for GGG to just say **** IT and take that fight, but it really makes little sense to do it at that point. It would've made much more sense in 2013 or 14, but Dre wasn't really available. So I don't call it a duck, just a fight that didn't work out. Obviously, it's very clear that you disagree and that's perfectly fine.

Youre preference seems to be the more slippery, defensive approach to boxing, I much prefer "effective aggression", heavy on the AGGRESION. GGG is too ****ing old to be the "savior of boxing" , but I can almost garauntee that he will deliver at least one, if not a couple, very memorable fights. It seems to me it will take an amazing display of boxing skills for someone around his size to kick his ass. If his all time memorable performance is being the "Felix Trinidad" to someone else's "Bernard Hopkins", that's ok. It's pretty damn rare for a fighter to fill the "Tito" role.

here is loeffler in august saying they have no interest...ward would have have no knowledge that ggg had a fight with lemieux lined up at that point.......just saying

as far as my approach....do i prefer slippery, defensive, approach to the fight game? no...i dont...in fact i like gggs approach very much....ive never said a bad word about kovalev...i like his approach too....i like both approaches when done well....in fact i find a clash of both approaches fascinating when its two top level guys
