Whatever happened to Margarito, Williams, Martinez and Brook? No fights against prime natural Welters.

Instead he fought a pair of 36 year old featherweight who beat the living **** out of each other for 4 fights along with countless other wars. Doesn't even make weight in 1 of them and needs an IV against a 36 year old featherweight.

He should have fought other Welterweights.

Margarito has an asterisk next to his name forever... it goes like this in the history books... Margarito*..

Williams became world champion beating Cheato in July 07.. Floyd was negotiating a fight with Ricky Hatton for later that year in Dec. Beat him then negotiated a rematch with oscar, that fell thru and he retired... Williams then lost to Carlos Quintana:deal

Martinez made his hbo debut (not counting fight with cheato) against Alex Bunema at 154.. 1 class above Floyd. Then Sergio became lineal champ against Pavlik While Floyd was still at Ww..

Brook? He's still busy ducking Khan and fighting the biziers of the world..:verysad

    Boxing clown,
Give your life a break. That has to be one of the most difficult jobs in the world, especially doing it from an Internet Cafe.

Loving fmj to your death, that's going to be on your head stone.. if your family has problems gathering the funds for the stone, hmu I'll gladly pay for that titled stone.

In case you forgot, ssm beat marg an inch fromy his life the fight before he got destroyed by your favorite athletic figure.

Thinking it over real quickly, I kind of understand the obsession with fmj. In your country you sadly don't have any real sports, so fmj must be massive to you, from afar

It's gotten worse since their hero retired, especially after embarrassing their best athlete knocking on 40.

It's about the styles of those fighters. Floyd never fought a slick, fast fighter. He did that once and got knocked down (by Zab Judah), and then vowed never to do it again. That's why he wanted no part of Martinez and Lara.

He also avoided guys with endless stamina who could pressure him for every minute of every round. That's why he avoided Margarito and Paul Williams.

I don't believe that Margarito, Williams, or Martinez were real welterweights. They were more like junior middles and middleweights. But you are right that Mayweather hated fighting guys who were naturally bigger than him and liked to drag up guys from lower weights to fight at welterweight. To be fair though, Pac did this too, and several of his fights against opponents at welterweight could have been contested just as well at lower weights. Marquez and Bradley aren't big for the division, and both May and Pac should have given big welters like Thurman and Brook their shots.

You have to also consider that Pacquiao is smaller than Bradley and Marquez too. He fought at 147 for the cash that comes from fighting at higher weights.

Williams, Martinez and Margarito never really had problems making 147 until the very ends of their careers. Martinez could have easily made 149 or so against Floyd. Tony and Williams could have made 147 in 07 easy.

By that logic Pac is a light flyweight.
