No, as far as I'm aware I am not Jeff Powell son, I look nothing like him, I'm a very handsome man... But you never know my Mother might be lying to me :think He is working for the Daily Mail and we are typing cobblers on here so regardless of what he types, his opinions and what I think of him you can't say he isn't a good writer, he gets paid to write so he must be doing something right. And I said Powell's time has gone, time has moved on and he is trying his hardest to stay relevant, get a reaction and he has got one, so he has achieved what he set out to do so he isn't as stupid as he sounds sometimes.
He walks around calling himself a professional sports journalist though. Attention seeking and looking for a reaction is okay for amateur internet trolls, not a man who takes a living to write about a sport he clearly lacks even basic knowledge of.
Yup and his blatant bias is a joke. Fury beats wlad, he plays it down. Joshua beats a can and apparently the age of joshua is upon us and fury is taken a rematch with wlad to avoid him
I'm not defending the man, in my first post I said I think his time has long gone, I said he is negative, stubborn and set in his ways. I don't understand what the problem is. But the fact is he is paid to write for the Daily Mail. like it or not if you are paid to write for a national newspaper the chances are you are good. You might not be popular or have your finger on the pulse but you must be good at your job. If you don't like his opinions and don't like his articles then don't read them, nobody is forcing anybody to read his opinions. In the age of clicks and website traffic I find it amusing that most people would click the link and read what he wrote because of this thread that is criticising him.
I think he's got this one spot on. If anything, I'm amazed people have come in such short time from feeling Fury nearly got taken out by Cunningham, stunk the joint out in Chisora 2, and was very likely to be beat by Klitchko in a routine defence... to this view he is the best thing ever. Ok, he beat a 40 year old Wlad in a stinker that involved as much running as fighting. Klitchko got old, was always defensive post-defeats, and could not deal with someone larger than him. I don't think other heavyweights approach things in quite that way and I see Joshua spudding Fury within a round. There, I said it. I think Fury got the right fight, against the right guy, at the right time - and won in a snooze-fest. Good for him. but can we stop pretending he is fantastic? Plus his family can bore off. Tyson is alright though.
Its the populist thing in a hard left, Marxist, anti-white media to love bomb the black fighter, and hate on the white, Christian fighter... Fury had nothing but wall to wall hate from main stream mass TV, radio and newspaper media following his world title win. AJ who has achieved a lot less, and has a lot less interesting personality is Lorded as some kind of unstoppable great. As an old and irrelevant journalist in the media he is trying to be populist and lefty, perhaps he thinks that the EU-BBC or Jihadi-Channel 4 will invite him on as a boxing "expert" if he shows his Hard Marxist credentials
