Those guys trained their whole life, have come to the top of their weightclass and are elite athletes.

They're the best MWs out there, who exactly is he supposed to fight? And don't give me some ridiculous names from other weigthclasses, GGG is a 160 fighter.

The only reason why those fighters are described as "bums" is because GGG is that much superior.

    :good

There are numerous people on this site that belittle GGG, attempting to build up their favorite fighters.

We have seen many middleweight fighters avoid meeting GGG with Canelo currently the foremost example.

Most knowledgeable experts are saying that GGG is the best of the crop of middleweights today.

IMO GGG is at a level above the rest... and I expect his reputation will reflect it before his career is over.

    ;)

Because ggg makes them look out of their depth. He'll make every 160lber look foolish.

His true comp is ward and co at 175. That's a serious division atm

another dumb idiot who cant understand the difference between literal and figurative terms....

yes....i know these guys are top athletes that would kick the excrement out of me and everyone else here.....yes...i know that.....

bum is a figurative term for a guy who isnt elite...or even considered a b level fighter

lets take a look at some of the top guys on gggs resume...

willie monroe=won an espn mw tournament....comeback fight at a double tree inn was canceled

daniel geale=beaten and stopped by a welterweight

david lemieux=lost to rubio and joachime alcine

curtis stevens=best win was saul roman....lost to marcos primera and jesse brinkley who are borderline c level/club fighters....

and now hes fighting a guy that robbed a 45 year old sam soliman...LOL

his resume is littered with figuratively speaking "bums"

Mike Tyson= beaten and stopped in his prime by a lazy, fatty quitter

Marvin Hagler= beaten in his prime by a fringe philly contender

Joe Louis= beaten and stopped in his prime by an Adolf worshipper

Lennox Lewis= beaten and stopped in his prime by a crack addict

    :hi:

I didn't know he had beaten Jacobs, BJS, Canelo and CEJ, even Cotto or a faded Martinez would have been good?

As Tyson Fury would say GGG's resume resides in bum city

If Loeffler is a man of his word we will see either Canelo, BJS or Gilberto next.

Gilberto being the toughest and most likely IMO, if he takes that fight I will be amazed.

he certainly fights a decent level now but he did spend too long fighting cans.

its his loss, reaching 34 with a resume that's hardly inspiring but not bad.

They are not bums. They just aren't household names, nor will they ever do anything significant in any division that they decide to campaign in.

When ever i see fans refer to all sub A level fighters as bums it gives of the impression that they just watch the main HBO/Showtime cards that involve elite fighters. You get the impression that these guys have no idea how boxing trully works or what lurks below sub-elite level. Considering the elite level is the top 1% of the sport these fans miss out on most of the best fights in boxing.

It's like saying you are a football fan but you only ever watch the Superbowl.

    i watch a ton of boxing...all levels...and i go to fight cards

but lets face it....guys like lemieux are bums...curtis stevens is a bum....not literally...they just arent very good fighters....and thats been proven....daniel geale...is he a bum? no....but he got blasted out by lil miguel cotto....hes a b- level guy at best...prob more like a c

when a guy like curtis stevens gets thoroughly embarrassed by dirrell....and by marcos primera and beaten by jesse brinkley...ill call him a bum.....is he literally a "bum"...no.....

the elite 1 percent should be trying to fight each other if they are within a weight class of each other...not feasting on c level guys and staying in a weak division

the fallacy is that the OP presumes since the fighters are on top it means the division is strong.

Sure, they might be the best guys available, but they don't hold up to other eras. The division is weak right now idk how you can deny it
