When it's all said & done, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will go down as the best ever.

Half true. Toney is originally from Grand Rapids and used to run with the GD's back in his youth. They both have family in Detroit.

    WTF?

How? Because you're an*lzing the skilset.

Ray Robinson is considered the G.O.A.T. by many, due to his amazing skilset.

Could Ray Robinson have beaten Deontay Wilder? No.

Is Wilder a better fighter?

    It's a joke.

Why do you think weight classes were invented?

Why do you think P4P was invented?

Are you telling me Bermane Stiverne is a better fighter than what Ray Leonard was, on the grounds that he'd have beaten him in a fight?

    It doesn't work like that.

Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury aren't better than Floyd Maywesther.

Irrelevant because it seems Mayweather officially dropped the TBE claim
He is sticking to TMT - Money

Justin Beiber also switched from wearing TBE to TMT :think

No one beats Mayweather from 130 to 140 lbs. Floyd's skills, cat-like reflexes and ring IQ cannot be matched.

Look, the sport of boxing has a long and illustrious history. Claiming anybody as the "best ever" is kind of ridiculous. Forgive me for adding some rational logic to this discussion.

"Best" how exactly? What rules? What era? A lot of factors. We going 12 rounds in a climate controlled environment? Or we doing 20+ rounds outdoor until one fighter can't continue? What size gloves? Not to mention so many other rules... Ali would get penalized for grabbing behind the head and hitting for example. Go back enough, you could pummel a guy as he tried to get up from a knockdown. I mean... "best ever?" Sorry, no.

In my opinion: The old timers are untouchable. Different cut of cloth.

Mayweather is definitely the best fighter of his era but I won't say that he is the best ever. If you take the best fighter of each era and compare their skillsets ie technique, ring IQ ring generalship, and KO percentage, you will find that Mayweather takes a back seat to none. He may not be the best but he is shoulder to shoulder with the best. However, if you take his overall impact and influence on boxing then he has only one other rival and that's Ali. No other fighters has shaped boxing in the way Ali and Mayweather has.

That's a fair statement. Good Post overall.

As his Uncle Roger has said "Lil' Floyd is 'right there' with the greatest boxers of all time." I just think you can't call anybody "THE" best.
