In the modern era of 17 weight classes, dating back to say 1984 or so - I can't think of any jump more impressive than Hopkins double-jumping from 160 to 175 when he defeated Tarver.

Nothing even remotely close jumps to mind.

Sugar Ray Robinson didn't quite have enough stamina or smarts to make this list... just 6 minutes short.

Pac went from fly to welter and was a top fighter at all those weights. Walker was only really effective at two weights, and Duran never made it above 60

Pac jumped through so many divisions so quick that he never established a solid resume or body of work in any one division, perhaps 130 aside, to regard him among the best in any division.

The more I read, the more I'm impressed:good. He's the official ginger division jumper. After 155, will he be moving up to 157?

He doesn't have to go up to 156 or 157.

He's already comfortably in my top 10 ATG list.

Hopkins win over Tarver is tainted. They knew Tarver had just finished filming Rocky Balboa and weighed 220 pounds. Oscar and Bernard rushed him in the ring. It was obvious from early that Tarver was drained.:think

Hopkins was pretty much forgotten back in 2000 until Don King and then Oscar DLH dug him out of the grave.:verysad

There's way I'd look at it he beat the best in each division and was obviously head and shoulders above anyone else in the divisions he went through, what did you want, pac barerra 3 pac Morales 4,how do you discredit someone for constantly pushing the boundaries ?

Many people have jumped from weight class to weight class, but ask yourselves, how many have made their own weightclass?
There is only one man worthy of such distinction - Canelo

the undisputed 155 lb champion of the world.

Hopkins is a fraud,he's the dirtiest fighter I've ever seen but for some unbeknown reason he gets credit for "knowing every trick in the book" or ring smarts,he cheats end of,his resume at MW is **** poor, his signature wins wer tito and a de la hoya coming straight off a hiding off Felix sturm and never to be seen at MW again.Tarver never was never the fighter he was made out to be either.
