Why do so many boxing fans dislike fighters with quiet personality like GGG?

Boxing fans are constantly complaining about guys like Golovkin being "boring" because they don't trash talk or hardly talk at all.

Personally I like this kind of fighters and I respect them for their character. I think this sort of personality fits the warrior the most. Real men talk as little as they have to. I'd expect that for such a manly sport, boxing fans would appreciate this sort of character more than loudmouths like Floyd and Tyson Fury. Yet boxers who behave childishly, end up in legal problems, disrespect opponents and boxing in general are the most popular and sell the most PPVs in the USA.

Why exactly would you want to see a great fighter like GGG talk about which movies he likes or other irrelevant chit chat. Why should he entertain the public on the microphone like some comedian or talk smack about other fighters?

For me, the epitome of how a fighter should behave is the MMA GOAT Fedor Emelianenko. A very moral man of religious values who was always respectful with everybody and didn't talk much, never had any excuses either. It seems that American fans like guys like Tyson, Floyd or Conor McGregor more which is disgusting. I respect GGG for not wanting to change and not giving a damn about American public.

Golovkin is popular because he is white. His resume is a joke and he shamelessly ducked Ward.

Trash talk can be good but there's a right and wrong way for it, like I hate guys like Broner who just constantly do it and are just plain disrespectful no matter what.

But when there's a genuine dislike between the fighters and they do it, it gets you more emotionally involved if you know what I mean.

 

How is Golovkin "white"? He's half-"Asian" (Korean) and half-Russian, coming from a country that's culturally much different to Western Europe and the culture of American white people.

Slavs have nothing to do with "whiteness", it's an American construct and it includes people of mostly Protestant Germanic Western European heritage. That's why White America never accepted Klitschko, Kovalev and other top "white" boxers from Eastern Europe and cheer for black Americans when they fight Eastern Euros. American crypto-racist conservatives hate Eastern Europe since communism. Hitler hated it too

 

I like Golovkin, his personality doesn't bother me at all. I'm American.

Generally, I think American's enjoy entertainment, a loud-mouth, trash talker. A lot of time they just want someone to hate. That's why Floyd and Conor are/were popular. That's why Broner gets so many views and he's a ****ing idiot. I, personally, don't mind either way.

I think the Golovkin hate is more a race-based thing. There are a lot of posters here polarised along racial lines. I personally care less about a fighter's personality and more about what he shows me in the ring. And yes, Fedor is the blueprint for a respectful, yet savage, warrior.

 

What about Crawford or Ward they are quiet and humble and all of their haters are White as rice in a glass of milk in a snow storm.

I personally like his style but his fans make him like some kinda of god when in reality he has faced NO ONE!
