Posts like these are ridiculous. Wilder literally trips over his own punches. Ali would make him look like a spastic.

Ali wasn't what you're making yourself believe. He wouldn't be able to take many clean bombs, and they would land. They'd land because Ali came to win at all times

Thanks! This was my main point from the beginning, glad to see you got it. Its too bad threads like this get hijacked so frequently.

But, I'm also pleasantly surprised by the poll results. It looks like Ali isn't quite as overrated on these boards as I thought. I suspect the percentages for Louis would only be about 10-20% lower/higher across the boards. Really, it's probably a generational thing. People my age or older were alive while Ali was still fighting or watched him live, and the culture of Ali was at its peak while the culture of Louis was waning. In another 30 years, Ali's "poll" numbers will probably drop to what Louis's would be now.

Yeah, if Stiverne could take those "bombs", I think Ali could as well.

Stiverne weighted in at 239 pounds against Wilder and he had his feet planted in the floor. On toes it's much harder to take them bombs.

Ali would need to plant his feet in close with high guard and dance away at times as well.

Feet vs toes equals: resistance vs movement.

201 pound Ail on his toes vs Klitschko hook? - Good night!

230 pound Ali planted and shielded vs Klitschko hook? - Would work!

But bLow by blow by the lack of movement, it would also slowly drain his energy and counter output.

    Klitschko UD or late TKO.

245 pounds and lean > 201 pounds and lean!

    Klitschko 245 pounds: http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01936/haye_1936524c.jpg

    Ali 201 pounds: http://static.boxrec.com/thumb/7/75/1229_alicooperblood66.jpg/450px-1229_alicooperblood66.jpg

Please people... Just give it up...

No. We won't "give it up":patsch. Klitchko refused to engage a 0 workrate, blown up cruiser, vastly overrated heavyweight whose best win was a shot John Ruiz in David Haye. You know, the guy that looked POORER against Sugar Valuev than shot to **** former cruiser (and naturally smaller than Muhammed Ali) Evander Holyfield did. Ah yes, the same former cruiser Holyfield, who, when waaay past his best, gave one of the greatest super heavies ever (and a head to head nightmare for almost every heavyweight in history) close to prime Lennox Lewis hell in their second fight:lol:. Ah, the same Lennox Lewis who looked poorer against Ray Mercer than ancient (and close to the same size as Ali, although FATTER when he fought Mercer:lol:) Larry Holmes did. But, we are the ones that should "give it up":nut:lol:. Ain't happening. So sorry for the truth. Maybe you're the one that should give it up.

Oh ****, I just remembered that past his best Muhammad Ali stopped prime George Foreman whereas close to prime Evander couldn't stop the middle age, fat, past his best version of George:patsch. How forgetful of me.

    1. Styles make fights. 2. Boxers, especially HW boxers, age better in active competition than other sports. Power, size and chin don't go away generally, and experience only grows, that can make up for athleticism loss. 3. 20 years in sports is a small enough time that past fighters can still compete and beat current fighters, 40 years is not. And 4. Ali's style is less suited to the modern era than more powerful champs.

Those four facts counter all the points you made in this and your Foreman post.

Ok. Well, styles DO make fights, but I guess theories and opinions matter more than actual historical events:patsch.

201 pounds lean doesn't get the job done against 245 pounds lean.

    Too much size differential...

Wlad vs Ali, is like Kahn vs Kovalev.

    140 pounds vs 175 pounds.

    245 pounds vs 201 pounds...

It's about 0.8 even, in both scenarios...

You are right. That's why Louis lost to Carnera.
