The way Pacman was outclassed by Floyd, did people drop him from their ATG top 10?

I assume it's a consensus view now that Pacman has no business whatsoever in any top 10 ATG list? The fight vs. Floyd wasn't even close and he looked a level or two below Floyd. Assuming Floyd is top 5 material, how could anyone argue Pac is in the top 10 at all?

 

Yes. Which proves that people were bandwagon fans just along for the ride. I really hope Manny got his money out of all those fake ass busters.

All people really care about is Floyd Mayweather, which is now why they ride GGG's coattail and try to get Floyd to fight him at some weight drained 154.

Pacquiao was never meant to even be competitive at 147lbs. He did what no other did, rise 10 weight classes since turning pro, welterweight being his 9th
Mayweather should have KO'd Pacquiao. It instead was a close, boring, low output fight (one certainly won by Mayweather, though). Moreover, Mayweather is said to have cheated with PED's.

There is no catch 22. Marquez looked suspicious, not because he KO'd Pacquiao with a punch that he genuinely trained for in training camp, but rather Marquez looked like he had a roid gut, teamed up with Heredia and all of a sudden breaks out with bacne which he never had before. His physique also looked very different.

 

Does Duran drop out of the top 10 because Hearns so easily beat him? Or perhaps the loss to someone like Kirkland Laing? Or perhaps how he quit against Leonard?

Great fighters someone times lose, especially when facing another great fighter. I always thought Mayweather would win, he is simply too good, even for Pac and was the perfect foil for Pac's style.

Also let's not pretend Pac was prime. Mayweather was past his best as well but Pac had declined more, had they fought a few years before I think it would of been more competitive, Pac would of still lost but he would of made a better fight of it.

 

It's why there is no point in viewing an athletes' place in history until after they have retired.

 

Let's stop with your hypothetical scenarios. The keyword here is "if." May trained differently for that fight and Floyd fans were saying he'd knock out Pac but why didn't he? If Marquez was able to do it then why couldn't May?
His training of chopping woods were all for nothing since he still fought scared. It was clear that Pac wasn't his usual self in that fight but why didn't May take advantage of that?
