To The Lara People!!! do you think that Lara after getting $1 million for Zaveck was going to take a pay cut to fight GGG? And if you believe he wouldnt have had to take a pay cut, uhm, where exactly do you think the extra money would have come from to pay him $1 million (or likely alot more)? He has no fan base (15 internet nerds who would stream it anyways does not consitute a fan base) and the fight would not have been put on PPV, so where exactly are you claiming the extra money would come from to make the fight?? The Cuban TV rights? Unlike Haymon, K2 is not in the business of doing events that lose millions of dollars.:deal

They wouldn't be either, fighting for the belt. The belts at mw along with the mw defense and ko records are huge accomplishments, how the haters/trolls try to deny this fact is proving nothing but casual fans spend too much energy throwing salt on things they wish their favorite fighters were capable of doing

Mandatory for fighting overly matched bums?. GGG will gladly take another paper title by beating a tomato can labelled "mandatory".

That's how sanctioning bodies work....... It's been that way forever.

If you don't like the way that works, then why follow boxing?

Sanctioning bodies have forced some great fights over the years that normally wouldn't have taken place.

Fighters had enough pride in the past to keep their belts at any cost.

If Canelo doesn't care about the WBC belt then he will be taking a huge steaming pile of poo on boxing history, the WBC and the long term connection between Mexican warriors and the WBC.

No, that's not how sanctioning bodies always worked. Like they do enforce matches purely based on hype, they also host others based on actual achievements. There's nothing wrong with criticizing wrongdoings either.

Sorry but its too late for El Pollo to concern himself about his Mexican fans.
They've disowned him they consider him a coward A CHICKEN. I cannot disagree with them. He claims to be lineal Middleweight Champion, but also claims he isn't ready to be a middleweight boxer ROFLMAO. Oscar is ruining Pollo's legacy by refusing to fight Golovkin & Pollo is happy because he's avoiding a beating, As my friend Jesus said this morning " Alvarez does not represent Mexico , he is not a Mexican fighter Mexican fighters have cojones "

GGG's one thing but tell me how can any boxing fan support winning a lineal title at a catchweight (who they themselves will pretend it's somehow more important when it suits them), and then defend it on another catchweight against a welterweight who's not even been very succesful in that weightclass? I literally cant fathom this.

Even without GGG what Canelo's doing is just weak.

what has Canelo proven? That he can lose a wide UD to a much smaller fighter? That he can beat Austin Trout by 1 POINT due to a flash knockdown? That he can get a judge to give him a draw in a fight he lost 10 rounds? that Lara can beat him and still lose a decision?

Hey, I was rooting for Canelo in all those fights. I stopped supporting him when his ego grew beyond his abilities. Mayweather fought in 5 weight classes and can afford to say "every time I beat someone, they bring in next in line". He is freaking 39 and beat almost everyone convincingly. Every time he felt he was close to defeat he re-matched his opponents.

Canelo is 25, only fought meaningfully in 2 weight classes and arguably lost 2 fights with 1 draw. He made no pretense of wanting to rematch Trout or Lara. He doesn't have the accomplishments for his diva behavior.
