    Yes or No.

And if he does so, dropping the belt in the process, does he revert to being an A-OK warrior who just wanted the Cotto cheese?

He can and i feel will make 154 in his next fight. I do see him (smart career move) dropping the belt. Plenty of fights at jmw and then soon as ggg breaks the defense record canelo can and will venture back to mw.

Ggg is all wrong for a very tough 25 year old. That's a career changer type of fight. Why go through that hell when you're going to lose anyway.

Drop the belt and stay away from ggg, that's the smartest chess move atm.. canelo will have another decade to build his legend, the last thing he needs is ggg.

They've been in the ring many times together, canelo knows the animal that is ggg. He can easily say he felt better being lighter in his khan camp. He'd be fully supported.

People think it matters whats blasted over forums and YouTube. Sadly, reading or hearing anything enough times makes anything truth to the public..

Canelo could challenge brook or spence after khan and he'd immediately be forgiven for dropping the belts

I doubt it, he didn't fight at 154 for some years now and he looks really dry at caneloweight. I don't think his team would risk it, he'll only go up in weight in the future there is no realistic way back imo.

Yes, weakened but not severely I think.

Looks like 155 is his goto place for his lowest, non weakened state and will soon shift to 156, 157, 158 and so on.

you don't build a legend by ducking fights.

Is Canelo and GGG a good match up? Who thinks Canelo has a chance when it's clear he is afraid of fighting and has been stalling for so long.

It's like everyone saying Canelo/Khan is a mismatch. Why would he go into one where he takes a huge risk and risks KO right when he is in peak trajectory for building his star pulling power.

Canelo is clearly being protected by Golden Boy and is being manoeuvred to take Floyd's place as the top draw in boxing and the mainstream media.

I am leaning towards we will never see GGG vs Canelo and it seems more and more likely that he will drop the belt.

Interesting take. Any thoughts on why the Lara, Kirkland & Angulo matches were at 155?

If he does indeed go back to JMW for at least a year or two, he'd have done no wrong in relinquishing the belt imo. Plenty of precedent for winning a title then going immediately back down. But then why bother defending it at all, against Khan of all people?

That looks likely to me. But if he does so, he surely HAS to go back to 154 in order to maintain any semblance of dignity.

Part in part is that Khan is desperate for a "big fight" and shot himself in the foot from the offset with the awful catch weight and god knows what else behind the scenes with money. Easy work from the off set.

It's likely another flashy KO for Canelo's highlight reel - against a recognisable name.

    And then, lastly, easy money.

Looking forward to the Canelo vs Danny Garcia superfight for the 157 title coming 2018.

    :think very true.

And it gets interesting since Canelo is so obviously better suited at heavier weights!

Yeah but I mean, if he's going to bequeath the strap anyway, why not just fight Khan at 154? He'd have gotten a lot less **** for it, as the whole "2 divisions" thing wouldn't apply, and we wouldn't have the unlikely prospect of Amir mother****ing Khan being WBC middleweight champion.
The fact it's at 155 indicates to me he's very uncomfortable cutting any further.

Also, do think he would be at 160 now, and possibly for a few years already, specifically because of Golovkin? Or just generally using weight advantage while he's still young and the going's good?
