People 'conveniently' forget that bit... Imagine a top contender - and mandatory challenger (Quigg) spending literally years avoiding his mandatory title shot against the champ (Rigo). You couldnt make it up! Also Rigo is no stranger to a bit of ducking & diving himself when it suits him.
Aye, Quigg should have pushed for that fight when he had the chance. Both him and Carl are as bad for the ducking of Rigo
In fairness the No.1 contender 'ducking' his title shot is faaaar worse Paddy. Frampton is facing other champs after all. A challenger ducking the champ is unheard of. You couldnt make it up!
But I thought Quigg was a paper champion and Rigo was the true champion? Or is this going to be conveniently forgot?
I don't think there is a lot of difference. Frapmton has had an organisational body tell him he has to fight Rigo, but is throwing his belt so he doesn't have to. Was surprised Quigg never tried to make the fight and a little disappointed. Them two fighting each other first was fine, no qualms with that but the winner then ducking Rigo is where my issue is.
That's fair enough paddy. I'm sure Carl has no fear of Rigo, but we're back to the old...." Boxing is a business" thing. Risk v reward, what's best for the boxer etc etc you can appreciate that, I'm sure.
Absolutelym I begrudginly accept it's a part of the sport as wlel as a part of the boxer's life. I'll be intrigued to see what the purse is for LSC all the same
pretty much how i see this. I didn't agree with some of your opinions in lead up to Quigg fight but i really dont see how Frampton can be criticised for taking this, he could have probably got away with a cosy defence or 2 in Belfast had he chosen to so fair play. He'll need to find a level he hasn't before but i think he wins this and by stoppage.
I think the circus will save Carl before we get that far mate. I wonder what they'll say about labelling Leo a fraud then ?
