The UFC model works but I called it years ago when I said that SF had legit talent who would at the very least compete. People forget that the current heavyweight and welterweight champion were originally UFC rejects.
Wouldn't call Lawler a reject. He had a good run in the company (under Zuffa), but it was in it's infancy. Was ages ago when he got the boot. As for Werdum, he's arguably the best HW of all time.
Bendo completely schooled. Shut out across the board for Koreshkov. Too small, and Koreshkov fought a very smart fight.
Anyone who watched Strikeforce properly knew that Strikeforce were pretty much legit. Melendez was crazy, the HW division was super exciting. Werdum, Cormier, Rockhold, Lawler - the heaviest 4 divisions are currently run by fighters that SF backed, not the UFC.
Damn, the Koreshkov fight was completely one-sided. I thought he might be able to win, because of the size, but damn, he outworked him in every aspect.
Almost a decade out of the company! Leaves on the back of 2 losses. Rejoins through purchase of SF. He's the definition of a reject.
Welterweight. He was overrated at that weight for beating a dude outside the top 30 in Thatch and Masvidal whos a LW himself and arguably won.
