Is it ever justifiable calling a fighter a bum?

Boxers risk their lives every time they enter the ring.

Fans are notorious for calling fighters that they don't like, or even lower ranked fighters bums. My question is is it justifiable to call any fighter a bum? There are a lot of fans that will call a fighter with a losing record a bum, but do we sometimes forget how brutal the sport can be, that we tend neglect to bravery that even a stepping stone fighter has.

I'm just asking. I personally don't care if they do or don't, but in a PC era, the question eventually is going to pop up for better or worse.

Yeah, Margarito is a cheating, low-life bum. He is the only boxer I would call a bum, though.

no, even in the cases where they turn up to dive, they still risk their lives doing so, one blow is all it takes.

But they would be frauds for doing that eg Audley Harrison.

No not if you haven't got the bottle to get in the ring.

Probably not when you get right down to it, it's disrespectful but it's not going to stop people from saying so, you just have to accept it.

Nonsense. You are juding them against their peers, not yourself. I'm sure you're more than happy to call other sportsmen sh*t in other fields, so this is no different.
