Will Canelo be stripped after the Khan fight if he doesn't agree to face Golovkin ?

I would guess not. They will find a reason to let him keep his belt.

On the other hand, if GGG/K2 agree to another step aside and not enforce the mandatory and let it go to purse bid then that's on them

:admin Probably. There's too much published information for the WBC to sweep this under the rug.

The "signed written agreement" by GBP has been acknowledged by the WBC making it hard to deny the facts.

    ;)

I feel like Golovkins team are really going to press the issue now that Canelo has got his free voluntary.

no, it will only go to purse bids if Canelo agrees within the 15 days and the promoters can't work out a deal. They have everything on paper. Canelo will be beltless in 2 weeks time.

canelo is surely going down the floyd way of operating, wait wait and wait until things are looking his way then demand the fight, he made a career out of it so why not. He should definitely be stripped, no question

    Are you serious...?

With the "Step Aside" money's paid and the other gimmicks they'll pull.

There is absolutely no way Culeno will get stripped for not honoring his mandatory vs GGG !

Cotto got stripped because those thugs were demanding close to a million in shake down money.

It serves Cotto well as far as I'm concerned for making those shady step aside deals.
I always voiced my opinion that he should have defended vs GGG first!

That's one reason I'm hard on Culeno who talked tuff after awarded his belt only to run into hiding faster than a French Soldier !!!

No. Sulaiman logic will overcome the facts.

Look WBC's rules, they have wide discretion to rule unilaterally anyway they see fit. GGG's team is just doing a political like campaign preparing for the aftermath so if he has to fight more bums, it'll be ok with this fanbase. So no, Canelo won't be stripped.

The WBC stripping Canelo is about as likely as a US court allowing a lawsuit against George W. Bush over war crimes. Is it theoretically possible? Sure. Remotely likely? Nope.
